I think 100. Try to scrape 350 in the 2nd innings to set up a 250 chase.

Why are you guys discounting the fact that Pakistan may end up with a lead![]()
England will win even with a lead of 20. Because the Pakistani batsmen will not be able to play Anderson, Broad and Woakes.
These people are such cry-babies. We can still win this match. If Root falls early tomorrow morning, I can see England getting a 60-run lead at most.
In the last test England lost 4-5 wickets for 20 odd runs, not once but TWICE.
If it is cloudy and swinging early tomorrow we can have Abbas and Amir slice through England. Remember how before the 4th day on Lord's test everybody was predicting England to increase their lead of 56 to 120 or 150 and they ended up increasing it by just 8 runs.
70 odd
Bat and make about 250
Set eng around 180
Ill take this from today...
150 can be overturned on this pitch, as England will be under pressure in the 4th innings and Shadab could possibly be too much for them to handle.
But the margin of lead only comes into play if Pakistan can bat well in the second innings. A 50 lead might be enough for England if Pakistan bat the same again.
Need to get England under 250 which doesn't look happening tbh.
Bairstow failed in first test. So, he would look to get some runs in this test. Root will get a 50 as well.
Stokes, Butler and tail will help England post over 300 and if there is no interruption then England will probably win this match as well.

I don't care about the Lead if England has to bat last and score a 100 I expect Pakistan to make a match out of it . Those who believe that match is already lost weren't they the ones who expected Pakistan to lose the series . Just how many teams get to draw a test series in England.
This
Well said
The same people calling it an 'easy' series were claiming that it was a formality for England to win 2-0
It would have been better to lose 2-0 than to give us false hopes of a series win after 22 years. 2-0 loss would have been easier to digest than 1-1.
2-0 loss is better than a 1-1 draw.
You learn something new on PP everyday.
If we get the remaining 3 wickets quickly with only a 150 deficit , the game is still on.
If Pakistan can then score 300, England can be beaten but this is a long shot.
England firm favourites but Pakistan must fight hard to the bitter end.
My main hope is Azhar is due and Sarf surely must get a 50 somewhere.
I feel the same Azhar is due a big one but needs sort his positioning out as they are clearly targetting him with the LBW.
Sarfraz i have little hope for. Imho he shouldnt be batting above Faheem and Shadab and certainly not at no6.
First things first , clean up the tail quickly as if the ball gets a little older Butler will chance him arm.
If Curran gets out quickly I think Buttler will start playing big shots.
You clearly don't watch much cricket then.
This wouldn't even be one of the top 10 comebacks of the year, if Pakistan were to not lose this (at least if the first innings was the worst of it).
Just saw this.
I appreciate your posts, but you have been repeatedly wrong about predicting comebacks in Test cricket and successful fourth innings chases. It appears to be your achilles' heel.
Pretty much every time, you back the team that is down and out over the first few days to stage a comeback as well as the team that is batting fourth to prevail. I am not saying you have always been wrong, but you have made incorrect calls on this front more often than not.
This is the latest example, and it reminds me of your confidence in Shafiq and the tail to take Pakistan over the line at the Gabba in 2016. I do remember telling you at the close of day four that we have chance of winning.
You need to appreciate the difficulty of making comebacks in Test cricket as well as chasing totals in the fourth innings.
