What's your favorite movie in this iconic movie series. Mines would be Rocky IV when he beat Drago, that was the triumph of lassaiz-affair capitalism over communism.

One of the most inspiring movie scenes imo.

@Mods please don't merge this with the movies thread, if there can be hundreds of political threads then there can sure be a couple more threads about specific movies.

I thought I'd be the only one but I'd say part 4 is my favourite as well. Throw the damn towel! Brook got a family! London_Lahori :))

After part 4 I enjoyed no.3, I loved all the rocky's tbh; only 5 was a bit of a dud

4 was the best IMO.

And I know Creed isn't "officially" considered a Rocky sequel, but I think it was a terrific movie and for me personally it's the 2nd best.

Rocky 4 is an all time classic, the story of an old & beaten up Balboa returning to avenge his best friend's murder and also win it for his country is just inspiring. After 4 I'd say the first is the next best, 2 & 3 were aight but 5 was just God awful.

It's still a part of the Rocky Franchise and it had that Rocky feel to it as well in terms of the movies stylistically, imo the best boxing movie in years; the best since Rocky Balboa in 2006. There's another indie series called Undisputed which is brilliant, enjoyed parts 2 and 3 thoroughly.

I loved that scene where he goes for a jog in philly with all the quad bikes behind him :)) or the one where he needs to take a dhump before his fight :))) that happens to a lot of fighters :afridi

Totally agree mate, recently Deontay Wilder used that movie as inspiration to step up to the plate and go to Russia to defend his title against the highly rated/dangerous HW contender Alexander Povetkin, it was huge gamble and in the end the fight didn't happen because Povetkin failed a drugs test

All down to your opinion. No two people enjoy the same movie equally. Choice of music/movies etc. is always subjective.

True, although the consensus is that 6 received critical acclaim from experts and fans while 5 was critically panned by experts and fans. Personally I find 6 to be better but didn't feel 5 was as awful as the consensus suggested.

This was a pretty moving scene from Rocky 5 I Believe:

The Script for the scene was inspired by an interview Cus D Amato did while talking about Mike Tyson:

Seems like he was trying to copy Drago by taking roids but couldn't get away with it like in the movie

:)) Pretty much, drug testing is a lot more strict now. A big percentage of fighters are on some form of PED's but with stricter testing measures the numbers should go down a bit. Deontay Wilder declared himself the Black Rocky but sadly the fight didn't happen, hopefully it does at some point

Rocky 3 & 4 are good fun movies with a blazing soundtrack. 5 is awful..have not bothered watching the ones that followed.

5 was the best for me. The end fight between Balboa and Gunn was much more real then the ones from previous movies. Balboa after going bankrupt comes back to his roots then trains a hungry fighter only for him to turn traitor. A very real storyline of feeling wronged that many people can relate to. 1 and 2 were okay where as 3 and 4 were just feel good movies. Rocky Balboa the last one was sheer dross!

Yeah I thought Creed would be a lot more popular here, apparently not. Was a very clever spin on the series, and was good to see them break away from the same thing again and again. Honestly could've merged 5 and 6 into 1 movie.

That scene was well made the dumping one. The amount of bandaging he got on his fists before the fight made you feel congested yourself when watching it.

Idk if you've seen Rush? The racing movie, has Chris Hemsworth in it. Before every race he puked, no matter the stakes.

Some people can't handle the pressure at the big stage and have their own coping mechanisms. :amla

In my list of best to worst

It's a reboot in the same Universe and gave me the Rocky feels, there are two more movies planned I think. The guy who directed the movie has been signed by Marvel for Black Panther

Hes a good director. Fruitvale station was excellent

He's from the african american community I believe, also tends to do well in projects he's emotionally invested in; he said that he won't do Creed again if he feels like it won't be of a similar quality as the first one he did. I expect Black Panther to be decent

Apollo Creed was Balboa's best opponent. The character was greatly influenced by Muhammad Ali.
