I understand that the Women's game in Pakistan needs encouragement as it has suffered over the years but exactly what is the PCB NOT doing to help them?

An international coach, tournaments, international exposure and sponsors too.

So why after so much hype and talk are we not able to produce world beaters?

The result against India Women is embarrassing to be honest and does make you wonder.

Incase you havent seen it, here is the scorecard

Seemed like a difficult pitch for batting.Even India took 16 overs chase this small total. However that’s no excuse.Pakistan women need to improve their power game to compete with India/NZ/Aus/Eng.

Unfortunately our girls are not good enough to play cricket. Even Bangladesh beat this 3rd string India team. Our girls are relatively better in squash. Just because other countries' girls play cricket, football, hockey etc. it does not mean we have to follow them. Don't waste money where there is no future.

Third string India team ???
Same India is Runners up of Previous WC
And Pakistani team failed to win a single match in the world cup

Oh!!!! I thought India wanted to try new players for World Cup. How can Bangladesh beat India team.

I recall watching them practising in Englans a few years ago, it was shambolic. A total lack of effort and in fact they were telling the coach what they should and should not do.

The players look unfit, they are not athletic, but one thing is for sure, they talk a good a game and speak as if they are superstars.

Do they do this full time, or are they part time cricketers and full time mommy's?

Because if thats the case it would explain it.

No we do care about it which is why we are discussing it here.

But isnt there a difference about discussing it and the PCB investing in womens cricket.?

When there is no help provided by PCB for women cricketers, no infrastructure, no sponsorships then how can you expect results. When that money starts coming in then you can safely say Pakistan actually 'cares' about womens cricket.

I feel that our Women's team is getting much more attention then they used to so we are justified to expect better results

I always thought that Pakistan women were so overhyped BECAUSE they are women. Anyway, I have yet to see them compete with anyone. They are truly awful, notwithstanding the enormous gulf between the top four teams and the rest in women's cricket.

Are you referring to Sana Mir? :)

Saw a couple of videos of Pakistani women’s team on YouTube, these ladies have some serious attitude issues.

It was fluke
And ths 3rd String team is still better than ur 1st String team

The guy you quoted pretty much said even India's third string was good enough to beat Pakistan's team. Isn't that a compliment, why seeth over it?

Bangladesh women have won the cup beating India in the final while Pak couldn't get to 75 against them, the women's team is just a PR stunt

Bangladesh women showing the way for Pakistan team as well.

KARACHI: Pakistan finished third in the Women’s Asia Cup after losing to India in a must-win encounter and despite not being able to make it to the final, captain Bismah Maroof is proud of her team and has already started looking towards the future.

Pakistan clashed with India in a crucial encounter where the winner would have progressed to the final, but a dismal batting show by Pakistan allowed India to dominate proceedings and claim a seven-wicket win.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh beat India in the final to claim their maiden Women’s Asia Cup, and Bismah is already thinking about the future and has identified the weak areas which Pakistan need to improve upon.

“I am really proud of the way we played the tournament. Our batting was not up to the mark like it was in the previous matches. Our batters, including me, were unable to perform well because had we put up a score of over 120 runs, we would have been able to defend much better,” said Bismah.

“India’s bowlers were good and they completely crushed our batting line-up. Our bowlers did better than out batters; they took some early wickets but then were unable to restrict India as the target was too low,” she added.

Meanwhile, Pakistan women’s chief selector Jalaluddin was content with the team.

“When we lose to India it seems as if it is the end of the world because that is how big that game always is, but we should not forget the achievements of this team and how brilliantly they played the entire tournament,” he said.

Jalauddin also went on to praise the performances of the bowlers, especially Nida Dar, who became the first Pakistani woman to take five wickets in a T20I, which she did against Sri Lanka.

“The girls did well by beating teams by big margins and that cannot go unnoticed. Our batters and bowlers were outstanding, especially Nida, who set a new record and that is an achievement on its own,” he said

Its ok, the girls will learn more with time, experience and resources invested in their cricketing structure. Coming 3rd is a very good achievement given the roadblocks these female athletes face in our society. I would say this is quite a job well done ! :14:

Agreed. We won 3 out of 5 matches, which is a good start. Can't expect to magically win tournaments out of nowhere.PCB has improved the treatment of Women's cricket recently, and additional funding is required.
