Pakistan gained a spectacular win in the 2017 ICC trophy which may sow the seeds of a renaissance in the history of Pakistan cricket. It ressurected glory of yesteryears and significantly was acheived in the 25thanniversray year of winning the world cup in 2017.Here I am listing Pakistan's top O.D.I.achievements in my order of merit.

1.1992 world cup in Australia-virtually pulled of a houdini act coming back like cornered tigers.Remininiscent of a sensational twist or turn in the climax of a Hollywood epic.Literally resseructed from the grave to acheive untold glory.Match-winners and peaking just at right time won them the cup.

2.Nehru Cup in 1989

Pakistan overcame strong Australian,West Indian and Indian teams to clinch the trophy.staggering run chase against England and most clinical chase against West Indies in final.

3.Carlton and United Triangular series in Australia in 1997

Brilliantly defeated Australia in 3 succesive games defending totals and pulverized an in form West Indies team in the finals. One of the finest seam attacks ever to have played in an O.D.I.series down under.Rtaed so high asessing strength of Australia at that time.

4.2017 I.C.C.trophy in England

Made of of O.D.I.cricket history's most sensational comebacks ever.Ressurected themselves from the grave like a great army batallion displaying the spirit of a tiger. In the semi-final and final proved the feature of O.D.I.cricket where on his day a David can overpower the Goliath.Rtaed at 4 because oposition faced was not as strong as in Australia in 1992 and 1997 or in India in 1989.

5.1986 Australasia cup

Javed miandad played one of cricket's epic sto enable Pakistan to win their Ist ever O.D.I.tournament and break their losing jinx against India. He displayed mental tenacity and nerves at it's highest zenith.

6.1990 Australasia cup

Sensational spell and batting by Wasim Akram won Pak the final who avenged the 1987 Reliance cup semi-final defeat at the hands of Australia.

7.2009 T/20 world cup in England

One of Pakistan's most sensational wins as underdogs.

8.1999 world cup in England(runners-up)

After a superb start faded off but just about qualified for the semis.Beat the kiwis in semi-final but totally outplayed by Australia in final. To me with their great talent should have lifted the cup.beat eventual champions Australia and almost beat favourites ,South Africa in league stage.

9=. 5-1 series win in India in 1987 and 5-2 series win in 2005 in India.Morally won 6-0 in 1987 while in 2005 revived to win 5 games after being 2-0 down in series.

In both series revealed great mental tenacity, agression and fighting spirit against strong Indian sides.

11.2000 Sharjah cup

Spectacular wins against unofficial champions South Africa in 2 successive games.Pakistani killer instinct at it's highest ebb .Broke jinx of 14 successive losses against South Africa.Literally ripped through the belly of the Proteas middle order when they seemed cruising home.

12.1996 singer cup
brilliantly defended small total in final.Turned the complexion of game 360 degrees when all seemed losing against Sri Lanka in final.

The Australian and West Indian teams in that 1996 series were weak, so I wouldn't rank it at 2.

It was definitely a big win but the strengths of those sides should be kept in consideration.

its second or at worse third if you want to place Nehru Cup higher.

I watched 1992 WC and that was a tremendous achievement, but to me this CT victory ranks higher. In 1992 we already had some WC players but this time around only one.

I would have included the series win in Australia in 2001/2 up there, though it was only a three match series. That was bigger than the 1996 triseries win IMHO.

This was a memorable win also
