I think it’s unanimous now worldwide that Virat Kohli has been THE cricketer of his generation. It’s cemented.

Question arises now where does he rank all time?

WG Grace, Ranjitsinhji, Bradman, Sobers, Lillee, Lloyd, Richards, Gavaskar, Imran, Tendulkar, Warne etc are generally considered the most influential cricketers every

Is Virat up there now?

Would you call him a Top 10 most influential cricketers ever.

As a leader he prioritised fitness, winning mentality, prioritised test cricket as the pinnacle of sport.

As a man he is a role model husband and a father of two children.

Virat Kohli has had a story book career in cricket and the last chapters are being written in golden letters.

He's obviously up their lol. No one can deny it.

He is an icon but sadly morons on PP ruin his legacy by fan boying him and treating him like God.

But either way hes an icon of a cricketer.

Virat isn’t treated like God by anyone in India. The fan following is there and he’s a favorite among women but it’s not an obsession like it used to be with Sachin. Virat is looked at as a brother. Loved by most.

Oh save it for someone stupid

Oh he definitely does, globally. Every ex cricketer quotes him and asks him on his views on Test cricket to promote the oldest format, the camera pans on him more than anyone else to capture his reactions no matter where he plays, he has a HUGE fan base (sometimes too out of control to Virat’s own cause and greatness), hell, even the Australian PM who is an avid cricket fan wants a picture with him.
I’m glad over the years he has relatively mellowed down and matured as a cricketer without losing his competitive spirit.
Such cricketers are to be treasured as an asset to the sport itself, not just by the fans of the nation the sportsperson represents.

In india dhoni and sachin had greater or more die hard fan following. In Pakistan i have seen more virat fans and he is widely appreciated.

Now just talking about influence then he is THE MOST influential cricketer. He introduced cricket to the people who didnt even know it as sports. He is the most famous cricketer especially in non cricketing nations.
Just like people who don't watch golf still know woods same is case with Virat. He is the first cricketer people ll know if they are introduced to cricket in this day and age.

In terms of influence, he is top 3 if not number 1. In terms of actual greatness as a cricketer, he doesn’t get into the top 10 because of his failings as a Test batsman.
