I just can't stand sanjay manjrekar's commentary. Not sure why but I never liked his commentary, his tone and comments. Who is your most disliked commentator from your own country?

Perhaps Bazid because he's so boring. But he gives a good insight during Test matches so that's good. I know a lot of people are going to mention Ramiz on here but frankly, he's one of the best commies in the entire world and I like his stories from Imran Khan days.

Sanjay easily, him mocking Sachin over the years made me hate him to the core, thinks he is extra smart.

Yeah that is also one of the main reason fans dislike him. Did nothing extra ordinary when he was a player himself but commentates like he is Viv Richards.

Yes also his hate love for Imran Khan and just praising Pakistani players out of the blue irrespective of the match.

You said it -- Sanjay Manjrekar. Take that to the bank. World's worst commentator by a huge margin.

Manjrekar. He sucks up to other teams a bit too much and over criticizes players without proper footwork.

His criticism of Dhawan is over the top. Probably cannot digest the fact that less talented players are making their name and money while he is not remembered by anyone.

Rameez Raja isn't that good, he has no idea what he's on about himself

Mike Haysman....

When Imran Tahir was first selected for South Africa Hayman said something like "Imran Tahir is making is debut for South Africa was born in Lahore which is one of India's most densely populated cities' :)

Rameez Raja, the name makes anyone: Indian/Aussie/SA/English etc. (not to forget his own countrymen) go jump over a cliff after choking him as well!

Ramiz Raja. I hate it how hie tries to impress viewers with his English speaking ability.

Sanjay Manjeraker.

I remember a story when Tendulkar put Manjeraker at his rightful place during the 04 tour to Pakistan. Gave me immense satisfaction.

I don't hate any commentator from Pakistan. But a commentator who I don't really like is Ian Botham.

I only really listen to Pakistani commentators for the most part when watching them play, and don't like any of them to be honest. Ramiz says a bunch of weird platitudes reading through a thesaurus of irrelevance, Wasim can be a tad too obvious with his talking points, Waqar isn't THAT bad but he isn't that special either.

The only commentators I enjoyed a decent amount were the English commentators, barring Botham.

Choudhury Jafarullah sharafat (domestic)
None (International)

None in the world can beat Choudhury Jafarullah Sharafat.

Ramiz because he sounds like he's commentating for some BTEC WWE match as he gets overly excited over some golf swings that somehow go for a six. shaz619

Has to be Ramiz. Guy hasn't a clue how to commentate and asks really idiotic questions

Ramiz is unpopular because he doesnt support pakistan much.

Waqar is the best of the lot in insight but struggles with communication skills.

Wasim is Wasim.

Mike Haysman....

When Imran Tahir was first selected for South Africa Hayman said something like "Imran Tahir is making is debut for South Africa was born in Lahore which is one of India's most densely populated cities' :)

I like Haysman. I think Wessels is pretty annoying at times. My fav south african commentator was Trevor Quirk, not sure where he went.

He said something along the lines of elephant in the room or something right? on topic, yeah he is the most pathetic commentator i have seen. Case in point

1. Did not know who George Lohmann was, when all time averages were shown and assumed the co commentator also wouldn't know him.

2. Addresses Jack Hobbs as Jay Bee Hobbs (JB Hobbs as it was shown on screen), coz he probably doesn't know who that is.

3. Said Naraine reminded him of WG Grace. What a joke of a comment that was.

These 3 i distinctly remember, I am sure there are many.

Sanjay Manjrekar. It is pretty obvious he is jealous of other players. He always makes negative comments about Indian players, especially the fast bowlers. Can't forget how he ridiculed Javagal Srinath plenty of times and how he loves ridiculing Umesh Yadav.

Ata khan, chowdhury, Bishop, laxman

All r horrible.

Bishop as in Ian Bishop? He's one of the best commentators going around today.

Ramiz Raja. Offers nothing but vocab.

Who can forget Trevor Quirk also known as Trevor Jerk

Trevor Quirk during the Test between WI and SA at Bridgetown. "There are 25,000 people here today and they are all here to watch the cricket

"Alan Kourie looks calm, but inside his chest beats a heart" -
- Trevor Quirk during a tense B&H game.

"And there`s the George Headly Stand, named after George Headly"
- Trevor Quirk during the Test between WI and SA at Bridgetown.

"Omar Henry hit one or two boundries in his seven."
Trevor Quirk during a Currie Cup match.

Ian Bishop? He is one of the best currently, just listen him and see how insightful he is.

Pakistan doesn't have a complete package in commentary. Ramiz has got voice and thats pretty mych it, Bazid has got knowledge but can sound boring, Waqar Has got insight but doesn't have proper command over English nor can he communicate his point easily.
If I have to pick the worst of them, it must be Ramiz Raja who thinks himself as a legend.

Notable picks across the world: Shastri, Shamim Chowdry, Athar Ali khan, Kepler Wessels, Ian Botham, Gavaskar.

Hahah.. that is hilarious. There was another commie who was unbearable from South Africa. You can hear him on youtube during that partnership of Saleem Elahi and Abdur Razzaq in the 2002/2003 series of South Africa.

It has to be Ramiz from Pakistan. But I am disappointed that no one mentioned the legend Russel Arnold from Sri Lanka. :angelo

I suppose people are required to name a commentator from one's own country. In that case, it would be Sidhu for me.

If I am allowed to name commentators from other countries, then I must say that it is difficult to find a more wretched commentator than Athar Ali Khan of Bangladesh.

Don't insult them they are a lot better :)) Dean Jones is like a Jim Ross, love him

Ramiz 'Thesaurus' Raja. Probably has the best vocabulary of our commentators without having any idea of the context in which to use the words he reads from the dictionary.

Every single commentator should be like Chishty Mujahid.

Peter Bacela, remember that match well.

In South Africa we have the ability to change languages between English, Afrikaans and sometimes Zulu on our remote control unit. Barcela was the Zulu commentator and filled in for Robin Jackman who was very ill. He is not a regular English commentator and so he can be excused. But his English his hilarious :)

Dean Jones is great but I can't stand Ramiz. It's probably not hard to be better than him either. :))

He just tries to be to clever with his word play and ends up with unstructured sentences, he should just be himself a bit more and call the damn action

There is another South African commentator - Khaya Majola. It doesn't really fit in this thread but I did enjoy his comments from 2:10 on the below video.

So the only time you can hear the sound of clock ticking in an India Pak match is when Rameez and Manjrekar are both commentating together.

Manjereker

My fave one is/was: Siddhu he was legendary during his early days his non stop banter with Geoffrey boycott was epic..

Yup Ian bishop. That guy acts as if he knows everything. Pathetic attitude.

In the recently finished test series between westindies and Pak he was continuously mocking one of the pak commentators which I found extremely tasteless.

He's one of the most knowledgable commentators going around...

Arun Lal + L Siva combo. It seems they have Phds in stating the bleeding obvious

Ramiz Raja

As per MoYo "Issay sharam nehi aati, sirf dou centurian sitawan matchoon mein aur bana phirta hay expert"

Was watching some highlights on YouTube of the Mandela Trophy in 1994 that Pakistan were involved in and found myself in the unfortunate position of listening to the narration of Jack Bannister.

Barely concealed his utter contempt for Pakistan.

Talksport was a fitting venue for the final days of his career with all the other raging bigots on that station.
