Actually Gul and several others from other countries could arguably make the list, but in answer to the OP it's the West Indies quite easily who have the most greats, and I'd even forgotten about the likes of Badree & . Only Badree and Vettori have T20I ERs under 6s.

Pakistan

You forgot Tanvir, Ajmal and Akmal brothers.

Tanvir is no ATG - his is hyped in T20s since his stats and impact are marginally better in T20s as opposed to ODi's and Tests.

Akmal brothers are no ATGs either. Decent/aggressive batsman who are well suited to the format but no ATG.

By far, Pakistan. Ajmal, Afridi, Tanvir, Akmal, Gul and even Hafeez are the most sought after players. Gul is easily T20i GOAT.

ATGs are not made in T20 cricket

Absolutely! They are volatile! You may just call like this: "were good", "are good"! Most times you need to pick players based on instinct & combination rather than form or skills! That's why players like Gayle gets dropped even when you know he can fire in any match! The good players like Malinga, Yuvaraj, etc, have also gone through pretty rough/bad patch in T20s that's why you may differ to call them as ATGs. It will be foolishness to pick players for T20 based on Seniority, Experience, Egos, etc!

That's why at least one out of Test Cricket or ODI will survive for sure (mostly Test) to maintain the purity of the game, otherwise the real art of game of cricket will more or less die!

1. West Indies - 2 time champions
2. Pakistan - 2009 champions, most times featured in semis, best T20 bowlers
3. England - 2010 champions and most destructive batsmen
4. Sri Lanka - 2014 cha, pions, arguably the best T20 bowler in Malinga
5. India - 2007 champions but don't have much to show except maybe Kohli
6. Australia - Somehow never clicked in this format despite having better players than inferior teams like Sri Lanka, India
7. South Africa - Very very good team but always sucked somehow. De kock and ABD may well win them the tournament next time
8. New Zealand - Could have been the 6th best if they won the championship at least once

How is tanvir a t20i great??? Has anyone seen his econ rate and average?

Dont confuse t20s with t20i.

Not anymore WI have reached the semi's as many times as we have :(

Also ABD is poor in the T20 format and unlikely to make an impact again.

Yes I forgot Ajmal.

Chucking or no chucking - he is still the leading wicket taker in T20's and deserves his respect and accolades for that.

I won't count chucking either in T20s. Boundaries are 60m long and batsman use rocket launchers instead of willow. It's okay to give bowlers some leeway.
