Interesting competition in Zimbabwe.

On paper you would say Pakistan but then Pakistan have a knack of surprising us!

You would expect Pakistan to come up trumps in this tri-series but I have a feeling that somehow Pakistan will manage to....... Pakistan it up again. Australia have just been mauled by England, so they would be looking to bounce back and who be better to bounce back against then the No.1 T20I side. So anything is possible.

Unlike Pakistan, Australia will not be taken this pointless series seriously, so I guess "the best T20 team in the world" are favorites.

The tragedy is that our fans might use the wins against a depleted, uninterested Australia as proof that this team is the rightful number one T20 team in the world, without realizing that Pakistan is the only country that takes T20s seriously and regularly plays matches against weak opposition. Our number one ranking means absolutely nothing.

Pak should be disappointed if they cannot beat these 2 teams handsomely in all encounters.

Unlike Australia's ODI team, their t20 team is very strong even without Warner and Smith and their 3 pacers. Tye, Stanlake and Richardson are pretty good bowlers for t20. And just a few months ago, the Australian team beat both England and New Zealand in a t20 tri series without Smith and others. Warner's absence can be adequately replaced with Finch who is arguably a better t20 batter than him. Tye's variations will be a handful on slow Zimbabwean pitches as compared to UK. Lynn's absence is the only weak point there but I still feel it will be a very closely fought series. Their problem will be against spin I believe.

Australia will struggle against our spinners on those dry Zimbabwean pitches.

Pakistan are clear favourites but we haven't always dealt with the expectation that comes with being favourites well.

Honestly considering the strength of the oppositions, Pakistan should win easy.

But Australia are fighters. Won’t be surprised if we dominate the series, and then they turn up in the final

Has AUS named their squad? If so, can anyone kindly post it here?

I think you are doing an injustice to Australia as a nation if you feel they wont mind losing or being badly beaten. Regardless of any sport or any series, Aussies love to win.

That's why it's important to notice which squad Aussies are sending - their intention or seriousness can never be questioned. Aussies are like Germany in Cricket - they'll fight till last ball and won't ever leave a contest even if it's garden cricket.

But, it might happen that Aussies might send a substandard team, which lacks quality big time - despite best efforts, might not compete with full strength PAK in T20.

Absolutely.

But I feel even with Warner, Smith and Starc Pakistan would still be favourites to win esp when the matches aren't in Australia. Zimbabwe will compete well too.

In your opinion, there is no need to take serious about any pointless series?
So what Aussies gonna do now? Are they forfeiting or they're going ask their women team to compete?

Its just an excuse by anti-Pak fans in case Aus lose.

How rude of you to question him. He's their players agent as they have told him they only care about ashes and India series( never beaten Aussies in Australia and south Africa have hence they are more concerned about India then south Africa).

It'll be a tight tournament with PAK-AUS playing 3 times. I expect PAK to win 2-1, but if luck betrays, that 1 can be the Final.

On paper it should be Pakistan hence I voted for them. However, we all know when Pakistan are expected to win, we play awful cricket and vice versa.

Pakistan should win this. Pakistan squad is too much for the dented Zimbabwe and Australia

Wow, talk about covering your bases. :))

Australia should take this seriously as they are ranked lower to Pakistan in both ODIs and t20Is. If they are not taking this seriously, its nothing to be proud of. Maybe they need to set their priorities straight; such as winning a cricket series.

Australia has a big chance to win since the number 1 player in the world wont be playing. :babar

Nice way of covering your tracks.

Australia looking like strong contenders

Aus side is just two player dependent atm. Finch in batting and Stanlake in bowling. If both performs then only aus wins.

Pakistan will win, they will save their energy for finals and blow Australia away.
