HAD to ask this question to Star Wars fanatics!

I saw both when they came out and thought both were amazing - great movies and one of the best I have seen in the last few years.

However, I think The Force Awakens was slightly better!

What do you all think!

both movies had a lot of potential but unfortunately they did not live up to it because of the appeasement towards feminists

there was no need of having female protagonists in both

between the two rogue one was better imo. the transition to a new hope was brilliant

Never understood the hoopla behind this franchise.

Both were good but I'll go with Rogue One, the other was too similar in its plot to A New Hope.

Force Awakens was a rehash of New Hope but the characters were good and it sets it up nicely for the remake of empire strikes back, sorry I mean the Last Jedi.

Rogue One was a massive let down. Didn't connect with the characters and I believe a lot of the movie didn't mate the final cut. This was also an opportunity to delve into Darth Vaders character but then he hardly featured at all.

Hopefully The Last Jedi will be good and I believe Disney is going to mil the franchise as much as they can so a a Yoda movie might be in the offing.. this one could be absolutely brilliant or another badly done prequel depending on the writers and how far they're willing to go..

Personally preferred Rogue One. Good acting, loved the war film feel and that Darth Vader scene at the end took my breath away.

Force awakens was dreadful imo. The female lead was wooden and her accent just put me off, it was like Eastenders in space. And don't even get me started on her suddenly finding her Jedi powers. Plus not enough Oscar Isaac.

Both movies were meh but if I have to choose one then I will go with force awakens. I only enjoyed vader scene (which is one of the best scenes in star wars history) in rogue one

lacks complexity because it is not based on a book

if stars was based on a series of books it would have had a lot more depth

True but books will always be better than any TV adaption.

True GOT fans would prefer reading the book since it iets them use their own imagination when envisioning how each scenario would actually play out if it was real. TV portrayals miss out on a lot of detail and character development.

Rogue One had the better space battle.

I'd give it the edge on that basis. :))

Both were pretty average but I've only ever liked Revenge of the Sith after The Empire Strikes Back.
