India vs Eng

Both Australia and India have a game to play.

India should win and Aus are likely to win too so that will maintain the semis matchup

Whoever plays NZ will likely have a walkover let’s be honest. So right now Aus.

So India or England the second finalist. Your pick?
 
My hunch is that England will beat Australia in the final.
 
I thought back in May, Australia vs England would be the final. I'll stick with that now.
 
Would like to see a New Zealand Vs England final. Want someone new to win the tournament.
 
Tbh looks like an England vs Australia final. Unless Bumrah can pull out something special against England.

Tbh England choked a bit today during batting. NZ was too poor to capitalize

I don’t trust England to perform in a big game based on last few days
 
England's confidence will be sky high and I don't think India will play them as well in a semi final. Home conditions plus I think India's youngsters may not handle the pressure as well.

Looks like a Aus vs England final, with Aus winning.

India have been choking with the bat for the last 4 games. So whoever chokes less would win. Must say Australia looking good for their 6th title.
 
Which ever team wins the toss and bats first.

Chasing has been impossible after our win vs Afghanistan.

This World Cup should go to NZ or Aus.
 
India will hopefully avenge the 2003 World Cup final defeat from Australia.

Hopefully Kohli will not be naive to win toss and invite the opponents to bat first on these pitches.

India is arguably the only team that stands a chance chasing anything close to 300 in England.

The issue for England that whenever they have a brief spell where they aren’t on top, people assume that they are choking. The confirmation bias is too strong.

With their performances against India and New Zealand under huge pressure, they have dispelled the notion that they cannot handle pressure.

What pressure? They batted first of phattas and scored 300 plus, even choked today against NZ after being 190 odd after 29. No way would they have chased 300 plus.

They had no room for error because they had to win both, and they delivered. The way they took on the best bowling attack showed that they have the mentality to meet any challenge head-on.

This. Chasing is incredibly difficult and all the teams have struggled when the pitch slowed down.Contrary to popular opinion, I dont think Aussies can make it while chasing. Their batting is incredibly brittle and with brainless bottlers like Maxwell, they can falter a chase as easy as any team out there.
 
Australia are favourites imo but England can beat them if batting first.

Something tells me it's England year in the World Cup.

If England bat first, very difficult for any team to stop them scoring over 300 at Edgbaston or Lords. I can assure you both semi finals will see the flatest tracks of the tournament so far.

delusion... all three have done decent so far and in big games Australia's worse player can wake up and smoke the opposition at his will. That's how good they are in playoffs..
 
Eng and Aus I think. Would be an epic contest just before the Ashes.
 
Wow .. nobody in this thread has mentioned the toss.

The top 4 have all played each other and every single time the chasing team lost.

Win toss, win game - pretty simple.

I think India will top the table and take on NZ, which they will win.

England will avenge the loss to Australia, making way for a final between England and India.

I can't see England winning from now.

As I've said before, this England team will capitulate at the first sign of pressure. No way they are winning this WC, India will hold their nerve in the semis.
 
I really want a New Zealand v England Final as I want a new new team to win the WC (prefferably New Zealand). But it will probably be an Australia v England Final with Australia winning their 6th WC.
 
Toss will decide the India vs England match. Whoever bats first will win, as has been the case in this world cup.

If India win the toss against England, it will be India vs Australia in the final.

I can talk for myself that I have said Aus and Eng purely considering the strengths and weaknesses of the teams.

I think for India there middle order is one of the weakest amongst the semi finalists. If Rohit goes early I think Rahul/Agarwal will find it difficult to give the impetus to the innings while if Kohli goes as well before 20 overs, I dont see india scoring 300 either batting first or chasing.
 
I posted ENG-AUS final few months back, with only change that I thought Aussies will beat India in SF & Poms to beat Kiwis - no reason to change that.

Remember, whoever is to win this WC, will need to beat Aussies in KOs.
 
I think SA will beat Aus and it will b India vs england final.
Englang will choke in the final.
 
I'd like to see an Australia - England final and watch the Aussies dismantle them on their home turf.

I think India will win, getting rid of Shankar and they need to drop rahul for that new Guy, they have a better batting line up now.
 
Whoever wins the toss and bats first in both Semis.

NZ, seen as the outsiders, have every chance of posting and defending as the other 3 sides.

Toss been highly influential on these flat-tracks to the extent that you could lose a 7 hour game in the first hour as has been seen already.
