I really enjoy test matches, but this time around, Pak vs Ban has been quite boring. I find myself struggling to stay awake 30 minutes in to the start of play. Last time a test match started late here (EST) was when India toured Australia and as a neutral, I loved watching that test series . It had some great battles, namely Kohli/Rahane vs Johnson.

Am I the only one who hasn't enjoyed this test series one bit?

Didn't enjoy it that much, mainly because of my timezone and the pitches.

I absolutely loved watching the Pakistan vs England tests in England where Mohammad Amir and Asif were ripping England apart. And if not them then Saeed Ajmal was bamboozling their batsmen. Or even when our spinners dominated them in the UAE.

This pitch has very little life, it's boring, the opposition is boring, the commentators are boring. It's hard to keep watching.

No offence to Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi posters on this forum, but test matches in these 2 countries are a disgrace to cricket.

Wouldn't go as far as calling them a "disgrace", but they're quite boring, thought out recent ones vs SL have been quite good.

I enjoy good bowling on good pitches and this test series has been disappointment.

Anything other than a 2-0 series victory for Pakistan was always going to be a disappointment and hence I've found this series to be inadequate both as a supporter of Pakistan Cricket and as a cricket lover as well- it no longer feels special to witness double hundreds.

So so sooo truee.

It's been depressing and traumatizing, the first test at least.

Could salvage some pride in the 2nd.

On the whole it's been a good series to watch. Bangladesh have played attacking cricket in odi and t20 that left Pakistan flat footed. Watching the next generation of Pakistan cricketers has been interesting. The first test match might have been a little boring, but I cannot believe that the pitch was so flat that we could not pick up wickets till very later: the bowlers were bit daft. The second test has been good so far on result oriented pitch.
Lastly a special shout out to the commentary it's an interesting bunch: you've got supremely enthusiastic Bangladeshi commentators who are understandably proud, interesting selection of Neil Manthrop with his South African background, then there is Rainsford from Zimnabwe, both of them provide a nice buffer for the match that's playing out in the commentary. And then of course Aamir Sohail, yes he is incisive, but he is dour, and awkwardly quiet letting his co-commentator talk for minutes before waking up. But every now and then he literally throws a Molotov cocktail worth of controversy during his commentary.
Interesting for me overall.

I think it has been good. Wanted to see the bounce back ability in the tests. We have moved on from ajmal, blooded a new opener, got some miles into jks legs, and we will now claim the number 3 test spot!!
It's a nice settled team

Many of the younger PP'ers seem to expect to watch Tests like ODI or T20 matches.

It's not the same. Half the pleasure is "watching" from a distance without pictures.

I'm in Australia. I can't watch the matches on TV. But just as in the 1970s I followed overseas Tests by radio, and in the 1980s by teletext (Ceefax and Oracle), and from 1997 onwards with Cricinfo, now I get wicket and session updates on my phone from the BBC Sport app. And my phone has Cricinfo open all day at work for score updates.

Most cricket lovers have always followed the game mainly from a distance. It's nothing new.

I didn't, a pretty ordinary performance by Pakistan.

What about streaming websites?

It was entirely boring.

I expected Pakistan to smash em.

It didn't happen in the first test, but it did happen in the 2nd.

I mean what happens when you play a 9th ranked test team vs a 3rd ranked team?

A drubbing.

The ODI series was more competitive (even though it turned out 3-0), because an 8th ranked team played a 9th ranked one :)

Enjoyed it a whole lot more then the LOI matches.

I enjoyed the 2nd test. The first test was indeed quite boring. The pitch in Khulna was a disgrace.

Boring. I only checked for the scores on ESPN didn't even watch it on TV.

For some reason, I really like Pak vs Eng matches. I always end up watching them so if it was against England I'd probably watch it. :misbah

We put up a decent fight against Aus (better than india in Semi), and after getting out in WC I was looking forward to a tour of BD as something of a feel good series bc we are supposed to win comfortably. Well so much for that idea, we got owned in the shorter formats, and the first test was a disgrace (pitch, bowling, attitude)...2nd test however was quite good. Some really nice deliveries and good strategy by misbah. Won't say anything about the batting performance of both teams bc we know the tracks were made for that. Overall it was a entertaining tour. Even though we mostly lost, I think losing can be a blessing in disguise if we analyze and learn from it.

First you have to ask how many people actually watched it ( or even 50% of it ) ?
