In cricket it is too hard to get selected into your national side but then there are incidents when brothers from the same family were able to forge their way into a side. The history of cricket is littered with such examples. Some brother duos were great and others were just ordinary.

So name below the brothers' duo that you found out to be the most lethal.

Kamran Akmal and Umar Akmal. Especially against Australia in ICC tournaments :ninja:

Well at the moment the Naseem Shah brothers appear to be the next big things. Each one is more talented than the other.

What have Naseem and his brother achieved to be on this list? One of them is yet to make his debut and the other one has a terrible Test record and is known more for his batting exploits against Afghanistan than match-winning spells.

The answer to this question is Waugh brothers followed by Chappell brothers. Others are not even in contention.

Bro I think you are not following the ongoing ICC U19 WC 2024. Ubaid Shah is the top wicket taker of the tournament so far.

Do performances in an U-19 World Cup qualify a player to be in contention for the best whatever in history?

Nope but it gives you a peek into future. As i said they could be the next big things.

Chappel bros
Waugh bros

Massive gap

Marsh Bros
Akmal bros
Hussey bros

I have seen the husseys, mccullums, pathans, akmals, morkels.

For me it was the husseys and morkels.

Akmals were useless. Yousuf failed at international,

Come on, michael hussey is worth more than all three akmal brothers.

In the akmal brothers, adnan was the best keeper

Yes individually he is bigger but if we are measuring the overall impact across all brothers then I think Akmal bros did more, expecially as David Hussey didnt play test.

Waugh brothers and it's not even close
I believe flower brothers were equally good and would have the same stats as Waugh brothers had they been part of some top cricketing nation.

Husseys were just great because of Mike while both morkel brothers were top guns.

Test Cricket
Waugh Brothers
Chappell brothers
Flower Brothers
Hanif and Mushtaq Mohammed
Hadlee brothers.

Pollock Brothers are right up there.
It can even be argued that they are as good as Waughs and Chappels
Graeme averaged above 60 and is known as South Africas greatest ever batsman.
Peter Pollock was a great allround cricketer too

Akmal dynasty is the only one still going strong. Looks like we have our answer.

Who remembers the iconic green lipstick Umar Akmal sending Mitchell Johnson and Shaun Tait to the stands in the 2010 T20 semi final? Kami also ripped into them earlier. What a game that was!

And then the combo of Kamran and Umar in the 2014 t20 WC as well where we donned that epic black jersey with green accents and Umar fell 6 short of a century.

For real, they brought the FIRE against the Aussies in world cups!

Best performance by two bros in a game for Pakistan?

Has to be the Waughs or the Chappells but I'm leaning towards Tugga and Junior.

Mind you, the Flower brothers are up there considering they played for a minnow country like Zimbabwe.

Waugh Brothers
Chappell Brothers
Pollock Brothers
Flower Brothers

All of them were brothers of destruction.

Btw, Naseem Shah's brother hasn't debuted yet so he shouldn't be in consideration.

The title suggests we are discussing about lethal brothers duo which means those who have won some games for their country.

Actually the Pathan brothers should be in the list too. I remember one game where Pathan brothers chased down 60 of final 5 overs vs a good SL side in the early 2010s. Will post the scorecard, that is a nice duo too.

Additionally, Pathan brothers should be in the list in place of Pandya brothers because Krunal is basically a nobody at international level and I don't think Hardik and Krunal together have won any memorable game for us together.

Shane Lee could have been a very good all rounder but didn't play enough. Brett Lee became one of the greats of the game.

Mark Waugh and Steve Waugh are legends of the game. No other Brothers pair come close to them.

Close call between Waughs and Chappels , Waugh brothers are slightly ahead.

There was one match where Irfan and Yusuf pathan pulled off an impossible chase in Srilanka. ABout the question. There is a daylight between Waugh brothers and the rest.

Well Pathan brothers were good at domestic level tournaments but one could hardly recall some notable performances from them on the international level.

I just mentioned one at international level that I can recall of my mind. That's one more than Pandya brothers. Ofcourse, they are not going to be anywhere in top 5 but it's just a notable addition to the list.

1. Chappell bros
2. Waugh bros
3. Pollock bros
4. Flower bros
