It's hilarious that Kamran is one of the options.

Purely as a wicket-keeper, Bari was the best by a long way.

However, batting is a key requirement for a keeper. Bari was a tailender.

So my vote is for Latif. However, Sarfraz will overtake him.

I used to think Rashid Lateef was the best keeper Pakistan produced. This was based on his acrobatic prowess and making the most difficult catches seem easy. However, going through the highlights and memories, he also fluffed quite a few chances and was used to diving in front of first slip.

Wasim Bari, from all reports, was terrifically safe but unspectacular in comparison. So I may go for him.

Sarfraz easily. Brings most value to the side.
Will retire as a Pak great and remembered in world's cricket history.
Already rated highly by non-Pakistanis more than Pakistanis themselves.

This is the saddest part. I have already seen posters predicting (or should I say wishing for) his failure as test captain.

Rashid Latif or Moin Khan purely on keeping ability. Obviously Sarfraz has the best all-round capabilities but I'm going purely off how good they are/were as traditional keepers.

First they ignore you
Then they laugh at you
Then you fight
Then you win :)

The predicted (wished) the same in CT that t20s and odis are different etc etc.. I feel sorry for them.

A wicketkeeper must be a batsman now.

And Sarfraz is SOOO far ahead of the rest in that department, its not even a competition.

Add to the fact he's added a major trophy to our collections, he's the winner hands down.

I know people enjoy overrating the oldies, and underrating current players, but theres no need to do that for Sarfraz. He's already won this comparison.

Never seen Bari..but Rashid is easily the cleanest glove man we've had since 1990. Still remember some of the spectacular catches he took specially against India in the WC96 QF.

Bari was extremely good at gathering - almost effortless. And, he was the most complete one among the other 4 of his contemporary - Kirmani, Marsh, Doujon, Bob Taylor; because he was equally good against spin, pace & swing. But, like many other cricketers/WKs of that era, he wasn't mobile enough - brilliant in gathering regulation, but not much in terms of covering space. His anticipation was good, which helped him to cover grounds, but not much airborne acrobatics.

Latif was almost as good as Bari in terms of gather, but much better mover & his anticipation was outstanding. It's the toughest job to keep against WW, bowling yorkers at 140+ kn with old ball. Most of the people judges Latif from his career in 2000s, once Wasim was ousted from Captaincy; when Latif was already 32-33.... officially. But, between 1992 to 1996-97, in his 20s, he was unbelievably good.

If I am to pick one, I'll take Latif.

Sarfraz is probably the best bet for ODI - slightly better WK than Moin & much better conventional batsman, while Moin should be T20 WK - someone capable of hitting last 3 balls of 50th over for 18 against an awkward customer like Ian Bishop is like gold in T20, batting at 6/7.

Those last 2 spots were there given in plates to Umar Akmal, who wasn't smart enough to smell it.

Sarfraz is not a particularly great or even good keeper. As a wicket-keeper batsman he might end up being the best but Bari, Latif and Moin are definitely the best wicket-keepers Pakistan has produced. I would put Latif at the top because he could bat a fair bit aswell.

Two votes for Kamran "goalkeeper" Akmal :kakmal Oh dear...

as technical as glovesman can be wasim bari hands down ... rashid made things look more spectacular ... but still rashid would be my second and then saleem yousuf my third ... this is purely on wicket keeping talent ... batting isn't considered

As a wicket keeper batsman, Sarfraz in tests and Moin in ODIs. Moin had the extra gear that Sarfraz is missing in ODIs.

Debatable... between Bari and Latif, both so ridiculously good, they make us proud. Even after so many years, you hear the Aussies and English still mention Bari from time to time.

Sarfraz has better batting record than most of our ODI batsmen may it be average or strike rate

In odis he has played few of the most cruicial knocks for us in recent times.

Aisa Cup 50
Run a ball 49 vs SA in WC
100 chasing against Ire WC
90 chasing 303 against Eng
61 against SL in knockout

All this when his position was continuously changed.
