Obviously Shaheen is a good example - I used to think Bumrah was another but so are at the likes of Cummins etc

I can’t pick one, but if I had to select a bowling attack for all (3) formats then this would be it

06. B Stokes
07. R Jadeja
08. P Cummins
09. S Afridi/ T Boult
10. J Bumrah

It is probably Shaheen Afridi because he plays all 3 formats regularly.

Guys like Cummins, Starc etc. don't regularly play international T20.

I will go with Bumrah because in tests, he is more proven and also been there longer.

Cummins is okayish LOI bowler, although the best test bowler of this generation.

Rabada is better than Cummins in LOIs but not better than Bumrah in LOIs, Rabada and Bumrah same level in tests.

Shaheen is terrific in LOIs but in tests, he has only performed till now vs Windies and Bangladesh and other weaker teams so he needs to show more.

Boult has regressed a bit in tests and Southee is not among the best across all formats, in tests, he has been excellent though. Jamieson is also proven in tests only.

All in all, as all format bowler with tests given first priority and then LOIs,

1. Bumrah
2. Cummins
3. Rabada

This is the top 3.

Obviously Bumrah. Don't think anybody comes close when talking across all formats.

Bumrah doesn't play international T20 much. India generally rests him. I think this list should include players who play all 3 formats regularly.

Terrible logic. Most top bowlers skip at least one white ball format (in bilaterals) to keep themselves fresh for Tests. Only Pakistan plays Shaheen in almost every game even if it's against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.

1. Bumrah (great in T20is and Tests, okay in Odis)

2. Cummins (beast in Tests, good in Odis and okay in T20is)

3. Shaheen (good in Odis and Tests, great in T20is)

4. Hazelwood

5. Jamieson

No top all format bowler will play bilateral T20s.

How many times have you seen the likes of Cummins and Hazlewood playing bilateral T20s? They generally skip them to preserve themselves for the Tests, and only play the world T20.

3. Shaheen (good in Odis and Tests, great in T20is)

5. Jamieson

Jamieson is nowhere in the conversation as a T20 bowler.

Seems like some delusional Indian fans have forgotten that Bumrah was bowling when Pakistan breezed to 152 without losing a wicket.

And Cummins too was bowling when England chased Aussies down in 70 balls. Doesn't change the fact that him and Bumrah are and have been the 2 best fast bowlers in the world for the past three years.

According to Mamoon, it’s still Jofra Archer because he ‘won England the world cup’ two years ago and they changed the rules for him which makes him the best all format player.

It is difficult to determine the best bowler across all 3 formats because teams don't play their full teams often.

Bumrah was #1 a few years ago but I am not sure about now. He seems to have declined.

I have to go with Shaheen and Boult. They play all 3 formats regularly and do quite well.

It's definitely not overrated jasprit bumrah with weird ugly action.
He averages 96 with ball in ODIs since 2020 and he hasn't even played an odi in 2021.
Even in tests he averages 29 in 2021.
He is only half decent in t20is where he could not pick up a single wicket when it mattered and he has only played 5 t20is.
He had zero impact in t20 world cup.
He is probably the worst odi bowler right now.

Forming an opinion based on one game, regardless of the format, is the perfect example of low iq analysis in cricket.

Boult is not playing test cricket in India, which is a much much bigger game than skipping meaningless T20Is.

Archer (when fit), followed by Rabada, Bumrah, Cummins, Hazlewood, Boult, Starc etc.

Shaheen will join this list soon. Exciting teams for anyone who enjoys watching fast bowling, and then you have some idiots living in the past telling us that the quality of fast bowling has declined.

Boult
Bumrah
Rabada
Cummins
Hazlewood.

Shaheen is an amazing bowler and I am sure he will get there soon, but he just has not played enough to be compared to the rest.

The less we talk about Jofra the better because cricket is not all about having that raw talent. How you take care of yourself and stay fit is very important.

One game doesn't signify anything..
By your logic, Mathew Wade is the best finisher of the game as he finished Pakistan's hopes of world cup..

If it comes to improvement recently Shaheen has been fantastic and is closing the gap on the best.

At the moment though, Bumrah probably still leads the pack.

Why is Shaheen on this list when he has been borderline hopeless in test matches? Tours in England and NZ were mediocre and he was famously part of the "worst ever bowling attack" Ricky Ponting had ever seen in Australia. He's got a long way to go before erasing those underwhelming memories.

For now - he is one of the best new ball LOI bowlers, a below average LOI death bowler, and an unproven/rookie test bowler. Tbh he should be taken off this poll.

the only low IQ analysis I saw was actually from India's bowling, when they conceded 152 without even taking a wicket.

Congratulations on the inaugural victory. Pakistan played really well to defeat their arch rivals for the first time in 30 years:asif

Can't look past Bumrah. Hazlewood is my favourite though, criminally underrated all-format bowler.

Totally agreed on both points.
Hazlewood is one hechuva bowler. He breaks partnership on will, he gets you the wickets whenever you want, and if left alone, he creates large dents in the opposition batting armory.

Hazlewood is a big time bowler and should always be in this list, but to be considered the best in business, he has to play more and stay out of injury troubles. Only 24 T20I and 50 something odis.

Bumrah and Trent are equally good, but then Bumrah had zero wickets in that WTCF and zero again in that big world cup match against Pakistan.

Bumrah is good in bilaterals and selected test matches he chooses to play but he goes missing in most important matches. If Amir was still playing I would have picked Bumrah for group matches and Amir for knockouts/finals. :inti

Bumrah
Ashwin (hopefully he'll make comeback in ODIs too)
Shaheen
Cummins
Hazelwood
Boult
Starc
Rabada
Nortje
Woakes
Archer (injury prone)
Rashid

There are some terrific bowlers, But Cummins is No. 1, Shaheen is still a newbie. The likes of Bumrah, Rabada and Bolt sometimes go missing in big tournaments.

Bumrah for example has repeatedly failed in big finals even in Test championship final where the bowler has ample opportunity to come back. In CT 2017 final he got tonked by a average Pakistani batting line up featuring the likes of Azhar Ali.

So again Cummins in No.1 and then maybe Archer when fit when it comes to fast bowling.

I had to go Cummins but could have been BUmrah, although the latter just isn't a great tournament bowler and thats key for ODIs and T20s where he has been outshone by others. Shaheen 3rd right now but also the youngest with the highest ceiling.

Hazlewood could easily be 4th, with Rabada and Boult being 5 or 6, however one sees it.

No bowler is perfect. But Bumrah has great numbers in each format. Big tournaments are let down by Indian batsmen more. Cummins blows hot and cold in LOI. SA Afridi has the potential to be a great all format bowler. But he is overloaded much like Bumrah and Cummins is. After first injury Bumrah's form dipped. He hasn't quiet reached the level yet. Cummins was known for injuries for a very long time. Credit to him to make an incredible comeback. Afridi hasn't gone through that phase yet. There will be niggles obviously as he bowls too much.

Bumrah is the only bowler to have proven record in all formats. From 2016-2019, Bumrah was unbelievably good in ODIs, he used to obliterate teams left and right. Since 2020 Bumrah has become more of a test specialist, but his relatively short ODI career was phenomenal.

Shaheen Afridi was head and shoulder above every bowler in the T20 world cup. Looked cut above the rest compared to Bumrah, Starc, Rabada, Cummins etc.

Rabada is so underrated. Here we have a 26 year old guy with 200+ test wickets ( higher than even Cummins) at average of 23 and people are putting him at 5th or 6th position.

This is a guy who is destined to go past 400 test wickets and perhaps even 500 if he maintains his form for a longer period of time. He is also a better LOI bowler than Cummins.

cut above? In T20? It all comes down how much total you defend, how many runs batsmen score. Bowlers couldn't do much while bowling second.

All formats, it has to be Bumrah, Cummins is good in Test and Shaheen has just started to produce results. Only Rabada comes close to Bumrah as an all format bowler.

Well the question is all format......

Going to list all the guys, as I've had bit more of a think about it:

1. Pat Cummins
2. Jasprit Bumrah
3. Shaheen Shah Afridi
4. Kagiso Rabada
5. Trent Boult
6. Josh Hazlewood
7. Anrich Nortje

No serious cricket fan would list Jadeja with those names :inti

He is an all format bowler and most certainly a better LOI bowler than Cummins too.

In tests, he hs 200+ wickets at 23. As all format bowler only, he should be mentioned in the same bracket as Cummins and Bumrah.

Shaheen is superb in LOIs( one of my favourite bowlers of this generation and defo the best among those with under 100 wickets currently) but in tests, he still has to produce a top series vs a major cricket nation to get the approval in this format.

While defending all bowlers traveled. Forgot Shaheen conceding back-to-back sixes in 3 balls.

How? lol
Boult 7 matches 13 wickets 13.30 avge 6.25 ER 12.7 SR

Shaneen 6 matches 7 wickets 24.40 avge 7.04 ER 20.5 SR

How is he head, nose, should above anyone

Shaheen had one good match. Even in the India/Pak contest despite bowling second Bumrah's ER was 7.33 Shaheen's ER was 7.75.

At the moment it is 28 year old veteran Bumrah.

Shaheen on the other hand is a 21 year old baby in International cricket. An average of 23.9 in tests, 24.62 in ODIs and 25.88 with an economy of 7.8 for a guy like him. Had he been born in India our fans would have already hyped him and called him the next big thing or even next Wasim Akram. :91: :inti

It's Shaheen Afridi by far.He is the best in the world in all formats.
He has no competition right now.

How many matches they played in 2021 ? Then we can judge not just best on wickets

Bumrah and Cummins tied for the top spot for now. They're the only ones who've been consistently brilliant in all conditions and against good teams for the past 3-4 years.

The rest are all subjective in no particular order -

Josh Hazelwood
Mohammad Shami
Shaheen Shah Afridi
Ravi Ashwin
Kyle Jamieson
Kagiso Rabada
Trent Boult
James Anderson
Mitchell Starc
Mohammad Siraj
