While being one of the biggest fans of Kohli, I do have massive appreciation for Kane Williamson. A champion player and a very nice bloke on the field. Kohli is ranked #1 in ICC Test rankings, and have been there for a long time now. While Kane is at #2.

Who among those 2 would you honestly rate as the best Test batsman in the world? Please try to leave bias aside and make your pick.

Virat Kohli. Steve Smith is better than Williamson. He has match winning knocks in India,SA, and England. Also beaten India black and blue at home. Steve Smith is the only batter at the moment who can challenge Kohli in tests.

I am as well. He is Australia main hope in the ashes. A dominating series in England with Australia winning will probably edge him ahead of Kohli to be honest.

Right now Virat Kohli is the Best Test Batsman . The difference between Kohli and Williamson is not very much but Kohli has amazing conversion rate which gives him a huge edge . But overall I still believe Steve Smith is better than Virat Kohli . He has made runs everywhere in the world and showed his ability . I am excited for his comeback for the World Cup and the Ashes .

Overall Kohli had the best year among test batsmen last year. He faced the best teams away from home and scored a lot of runs.

Form wise it is Pujara. He has 4 test hundreds in his last 5-6 tests in Aus, England.

Williamson has had a great run too.

I agree. Chestswar Pujara is the best now. Steven Smith was the best test bat before his ban. Hope he comes back even stronger.

Yeah if you think of test cricket right now, Pujara is most likely to get in your mind before anyone else. Maybe because he doesn't play in LOIs.

Williamson is better than our kaptaan. We don't know how Smith will play once he returns but if Warner's return is any indication he will regain his position as the premiere batter of this generation.

AB was best batter in SA series. Kaptaan tailed off in English series as it came close. He was atrocious in Australia.

Williamson because he won his team a massive series against Pakistan in UAE. I think his performances in both the matches thar NZ won was quite exceptional. Kohli though has played a lot of great knocks in tests but call it bad luck, he has struggled to close the games. Williamson on the other hand finishes better.
