The T20 World Cup heads into the final week of group-stage fixtures with six spots in the Super 8s still up for grabs.

West Indies were the first team to qualify for the next phase, while India joined them with victory over Pakistan later on Sunday.

Here's what the remaining teams need to progress to the next stage.

What's the format and how does qualification work?

The top two teams in each group - A to D - will progress to the Super 8s, which will be made up of two groups of four.

If any teams are level on points after the four group-stage fixtures, they will be separated by number of wins and then net run-rate.

The International Cricket Council has pre-determined the Super 8 groups if the eight seeded sides qualify:

X Group: India (X1), Australia (X2), West Indies (X3), South Africa (X4)

Y Group: England (Y1), New Zealand (Y2), Pakistan (Y3), Sri Lanka (Y4)

If any of those sides do not progress, the teams who do in their place will just fill the spot.

Each team plays three more matches in the Super 8s phase, facing each of the other teams in their group once.

After those fixtures, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, with the winner of each Super 8s group facing the runner-up from the other.

Group A

Remaining games: Pakistan v Namibia (18 Feb, 09:30) and India v Netherlands (18 Feb, 13:30)

Defending champions India sealed their place in the Super 8s with a comfortable 61-run win over rivals Pakistan.

Pakistan slipped to third with that defeat, with their net run-rate taking a heavy hit.

However, a win in their final game against Namibia on Wednesday would see them progress.

USA have played all of their games and are currently second but need Pakistan to lose their final game and for the Netherlands to lose or not overtake their net run-rate if they win.

The Netherlands must beat India, hope Pakistan lose and then it could come down to net run-rate.

Namibia are eliminated.

Group B

Remaining games: Australia v Sri Lanka (16 Feb, 13:30), Ireland v Zimbabwe (17 Feb 09:30 GMT), Sri Lanka v Zimbabwe (19 Feb, 09:30), Australia v Oman (20 Feb, 13:30)

Sri Lanka will progress with a win over Australia on Monday. If they lose they would likely need to beat Zimbabwe and then it could come down to net run-rate. Two wins would guarantee progression.

Australia would be eliminated if they lose to Sri Lanka on Monday and Zimbabwe beat Ireland on Tuesday. They may need to win both their remaining games and rely on net run-rate.

Zimbabwe will guarantee progression with two wins. One win potentially may be enough but it would come down to net run-rate.

Ireland need to win their last match and hope other results go their way because they can only qualify on net run-rate.

Oman are eliminated.

Group C

Remaining games: England v Italy (16 Feb, 09:30), Scotland v Nepal (17 Feb, 13:30), West Indies v Italy (19 Feb, 05:30)

West Indies secured their progression with a nine-wicket win over Nepal on Sunday.

England must beat Italy on Monday to progress. A defeat would likely see them eliminated on net run-rate.

Scotland need to beat Nepal and hope Italy beat England but do not overtake their net run-rate.

Italy must beat England but could lose to West Indies and then net run-rate would decide who progresses. Two wins would see them through, as would a win against England and a washed-out game against West Indies.

Nepal are eliminated.

Group D

Remaining games: New Zealand v Canada (17 Feb, 05:30 GMT), South Africa v UAE (18 Feb, 05:30 GMT), Afghanistan v Canada (19 Feb, 13:30 GMT)

Unbeaten South Africa have qualified and will go through as group winners with victory over UAE on Wednesday.

New Zealand will be guaranteed to progress with a win over Canada on Tuesday but if they fail to do so then a superior net run-rate to Afghanistan and UAE will see them through.

UAE need to win their remaining mach against South Africa on Wednesday, hope New Zealand slip up against Canada, and finish with a better net run-rate than both the Black Caps and Afghanistan.

Afghanistan will likely need Canada to win against New Zealand on Tuesday then beat the Canadians themselves on Thursday while ensuring their net run-rate is better than the Black Caps.

Canada need to win both their remaining fixtures and will need other results to go their way.

All times GMT.

How is net run-rate calculated?

Run-rate is the average number of runs scored per over by a team in their entire innings - so, for example, a score of 140 off 20 overs equals seven runs per over.

Net run-rate is calculated by subtracting the opposition's run-rate from the other team's run-rate.

The winning side will therefore have a positive net run-rate, and the losers a negative net run-rate.

In a tournament, net run-rate is worked out by taking the average runs per over scored by that team in each game and subtracting the average runs per over scored against them in each game.

If a team is bowled out inside their allotted overs, their run-rate is calculated by dividing the runs by the maximum overs they could have batted - 20 overs in the case of this tournament.

NRR means nothing for Pak. Win the game and advance, simple as.
what is more important is deciding who will play (11) for rest of the WT20. You still have an easy team to play tomorrow to let players like Naseem, Fakhar, Nafay and Salman Mirza get some game time.

If the 3 so called seniors play tomorrow then there is no hope in super 8s and you might as well go back!

should be an easy win but they are Pakistan afterall

It should be easy but then the pressure will be massive as a loss to Namibia will be an even lower point than the 2024 debacle.

We are already thankful to the drop catch that has kept us in the tournament otherwise we could have well been out by now.

If the Semis are Winner of Group 1 Vs. Runner-up of Group 2, I would say an India-Pakistan semi-final looks pretty likely

In the group of India, South Africa, West Indies & Zimbabwe, I'd bet on India 1 and South Africa 2
In the group of Pakistan, England, Sri Lanka & New Zealand, it's a bit trickier but on balance, New Zealand 1 and Pakistan 2

Would be a dream semifinal for the broadcasters!

It’s probably SL first and England or Pak coming top. England have struggled in most matches and never looked comfortable. They will be playing in SL. So they may not top the group

Let pak get over the Namibia hurdle first! USA is still in Ind waiting for this result hoping for a historical upset..😂

I don't know with Sri Lanka. They're so mercurial. Brilliant one day, terrible the next. Without Hasaranga, I think their bowling is weaker than Pakistan's and their batting only slightly stronger.

I still think New Zealand tops that group and Pakistan comes in second. It's a tricky group though and though England is the weakest, they can still blow a team out of the park with a massive score on their day.

I don't think we will qualify for the semis but even if we do I think they'll keep India and Pakistan apart. I don't see it going down too well if India have to play their semi in Sri Lanka.

Loss to Namibia will rival Ireland 2007 as worst defeat in Pakistan cricket history - worse than USA in my opinion. But i mean surely we will be fine (famous last words and all).

Semis will be 1st v 2nd between the groups - as much as they might like to they can't keep Pakistan and India apart if the group finishes in that way.

I expect India will top their group along with South Africa. I think Group 2 could literally be any combination of SL, Eng, NZ and Pak (assuming we beat Namibia, lol).

Could be any combination honestly. SA can top group 1 easily. Anything can happen once the KO games kick in as its all about the pressure and nerves.

IF Pak gets through, they will play NZ in the first game, which does not seem to have a bowling attack instilling fear in any opponent's mind. They do have good batting.

IF Pak decided to be stupid again, they would ask NZ to bat first and count themselves out of the tournament. Pak must win its first game to get the confidence back. It won't be easy to beat Eng and SL since they have excellent spin options.

I don't know if they have excellent spin options. Minnow-basher Theeskshana ain't Hasaranga and England pretty much just have Adil Rashid.

Theekshana in Colombo won't be the same as in Palekelle.
Adil can cause a wreck against this team which has the presence of a fear mongering king fraud.
