Never say Imran Khan play but read/heard great things about him.

Ganguly came into captaincy against the backdrop of a match-fixing scandal and losing the likes of Azharuddin, Jadeja, Nayan Mongia etc.

He introduced under 19 players such as Zaheer, Yuvraj, Kaif and took out medicore players such as Mohanty, Ramesh etc.

He brought young players such as Harbhajan, Nehra, Pathan, Dhoni into the fold and persisted with Dravid in odi's by asking him to be a wicketkeeper.

He installed India the belief they could win and win anywhere in the world and set the trend.

In the 2003 world cup final, when Australia were 127/2, I an surprised he got on the defensive by asking Sachin, Mongia, Sehwag, Yuvraj to bowl in the 21-30 over period.

Just surprised he didn't decide to go on the attack and try to get quick wickets by bringing back Zaheer, Nehra and bowling Bhajji out. Who knows, Australia could have been 170/5 instead of 183/2 after 30 batting India out of the game and by the time he brought Zaheer back it was too late.

However, he was an inspirational leader who changed India's fortunes.
