These are my most entertaining cricketers of all ranked in order of merit.Remember it does no rate overall class or technical skill but just entertainement value. They wee the equivalent of Gladiators on the cricket field.
1.Gary Sobers
Took cricketing genius to heights never attained in every facet of the game.Simply cricket's emperor.
2.Viv Richards
At his best reminded you of Julius Caesar on the cricket field creating the impact of a buldozer or dynamite.
3.Ian Botham
The closest to Sobers who at his best in every department looked like breathing fire.No cricketer created more explosive an effect al-round after Sobers.
4.Brian Lara
His batting often resembled a lyrical composition containing strokes that were surreal. Could be mercurial for periods no great batsmen could be.
5.Don Bradman
Cricket's ultimate machine who not only amassed huge scores but acheived them at a phenomenal scoring rate.
6.Kapil Dev
Radiated more joy than any cricketer of his generation doing more to contribute to the spirit of the game than any cricketer. At his best created the impact of a hurricane and could be an absolute revelation batting, bowling or fielding.
7.Barry Richards
Could give batting's ultimate exhibition blending technical skill with agression.Barry was a technician, boxer and artist rolled into one revealing all-round batting skill at a supreme depth never attained.
8.Wasim Akram
Fast bowling's equivalent of a magician who exhibited supreme skil and diversity at it's greatest depth.Could also execute pulverising strokes when batting.
9.Virendra Sehwag
Like a Viv Richards of his day who took explosive effect and imagination to it's supreme depth like a bulldozer and a magician rolled into one.
10.Derek Randall
Cricket's ultimate acrobat who looked like a performer in a circus when fielding.Performed some of the most superlative feats when fielding. Also at his best a marvel to watch with the bat who could play some breathtaking strokes.
11.Adam Gilchrist
Carried a bat like a machine gun and in full flow resembled an army battalion crushing an enemy.
12.Keith Miller
Equivalent of a Hollywod star to the game being a supreme entertainer.
The likes of Dennis Lillee,Malcolm Marshall,Imran Khan,Everton Weekes,Rohan Kanhai ,Greg Chappell , David Gower,Frank Worrel,Sachin Tendulkar,Majid Khan ,Inzamam Ul Haq or Zaheer Abbas just missed out and could well have made the list.
