The more I think of it, the more I am convinced that Dhoni should bat at #4. He will lose India more games if he bats down the order.

Rahul likes the ball coming onto the bat that is why he does well generally as an opener against new ball and has struggled in the middle order till now.

It is my request to Indian Coach Team please add Pant or Kartik for Jadhav. Shankar and Jadhav are indias weak link. If England got through top 3 quickly india will struggle to beat England.

Pant in for sure. Shankar is what you call a bit and pieces player. Pant can be destructive even though he hasn't translated it to LOI.

Shankar has to go.....he bats like a number 7. Or 8. Karthik / Pant are both viable options. Our issue has been pushing along the scoring rate in the middle order. Pant is a great option if we are looking to solve for that - he won't come off every match but even if he comes off in one game out of 2, that's a huge win.

If it is a flat pitch(330+ game), you definitely gotta go with Pant.
