I don't think it will be Shafiq, he doesn't have the temperament, I don't even think he's got a Test 150 let alone a double century.

I think most likely it will be Azhar Ali.

Unfair to compare batting output of Azhar and Shafiq.


Azhar has batted in the top three/four ever since he has debuted and therefore has had greater opportunity to score bigger tons.

Shafiq has batted at number six for overwhelming majority of his career. How many number sixes you know who consistently hit 150s or 200s?

You make a good point but he does have a habit of getting out shortly after his century. He has 11 centuries and 6 times he has gotten out after scoring 0-12 more runs after his century.

Azhar as he has experience & scored double tons before. Fakhar & Babar need time to learn to score a test ton first.

As for Asad, I don't think he will ever become a daddy hundred scoring player due to his concentration lapses & batting position.. The only time i felt like he would get the 150 was during the first test match in australia 2016 tour.

Asad Shafiq is due, but it remains to be seen if he can score big batting at number 4. At number 6, he seemed to get out mostly due to concentration lapses.
