I am hearing Shahbaz Sharif as next PM? Could this be the case?

Shabaz was untainted by the scandal, even though obviously he must have been complicit. MLN has one year to go before elections, when it can regroup. So expect a prolonged appeal after appeal to time delay until the GE.

I don't care who it is. An acting PM in this situation should call for a snap election.

I believe you need to be an MNA to be PM. Even Senators aren't allowed to, leave alone an MPA, which Shehbaz is. He may end up getting into the NA on a by-election, and then be elected PM, but that can't happen immediately. Someone already in the NA will be PM, at least for the time being.

But with the N in PMLN gone, the party will disintegrate in all likelihood. How they will manage to get a majority behind one MNA, when there will be several who believe they have a shot, is anyone's guess right now.

Cabinet should be dissolved as of right now and if all goes well the President would most probably call for elections shortly.....

Although if given the choice I'd probably nominate Sarfaraz for PM atm.....

Shahbaz Sharif is a MPA not a MNA. To make him a MNA they need a by election but they need to give a 90 day notice for that so it's very unlikely plus they have no one ready to be CM punjab just yet.

Ishaq Dar is a Senator so he has the same issue as Shahbaz Sharif plus no one to take over the finance ministry.

Khwaja Asif is the most likely in my opinion with Saad Rafique having an outside chance though he's very junior compared to other cabinet members.

Shahbaz first need to resign as CM and MPA thn win a MNA seat to have a chance...And even thn there are cases against him that gonna hurt him later

Shahbaz resigning from CM to become MNA and PM means Sharif family getting weak in Punjab and that's the last thing PMLN need right now.
