Yes, my mistake, I did not realized we're talking about test. Yes, in tests he should be a contender but not the winner , that honor goes to Afridi.

I want to go Shaheen Afridi since he is my favourite player, but I will go for Fawad Alam, as he got those brilliant centuries against New Zealand, South Africa and West Indies, which is difficult to do for a number 5 middle-order batsman. I think he also got a century against Zimbabwe and a fifty against Bangladesh. Yes, Shaheen Shah had multiple brilliant performances, but I just felt Fawad Alams centuries (after collapses of top-order batsmen) were more impressive. Plus it would simply be an epic journey/ story if Fawad Alam wins Pakistan Test Cricketer after being rejected for so long. He has also been the best number 5 batsman this year and 1000% deserves to be in ICC 2021 Test XI, but ICC will probably do their usual stupid thing and place someone like Williamson or Root in number 5 (which shouldn't be allowed because that isn't their position).

Shaheen has a lot of years ahead of him to continue with his brilliant performances Inshallah.

On one hand i say what good are bowlers if they have no score to defend, Fawad Alam is my vote for test player of the year for Pakistan otherwise it's a draw between Shaheen and Alam.

May Allah give both these guys more successes in 2022.
