Salam bros.

I just wanted to know a few more things on the above topic as I have limited knowledge on the subject.

- Where is it written in the Quran/Hadith that muslims have to eat halal slaughtered animals
- How were the rules for slaughtering develop

the halal slaughter method and banning of pork was to show the Jews of Medina that the God the Prophet was said to be receiving revelations from was indeed the God of Abraham and Moses. Halal is pretty much carbon copy of Kosher in the way the animal is slaughtered.

Thanks for ur comment.

I wanted to know where it was prescribed from, any hadith or in the Quran?

Its better to ask these questions from a learned scholar brother rather than on a forum is my sincere advice. Halal slaughter is mentioned in quran and hadith. Quran says:

"Forbidden for you are carrion, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that which has been slaughtered while proclaiming the name of any other than God, and one killed by strangling, and one killed with blunt weapons, and one which died by falling, and that which was gored by the horns of some animal, and one eaten by a wild beast, except those whom you slaughter; and that which is slaughtered at the altar and that which is distributed by the throwing of arrows [for an omen]; this is an act of sin.

— al-Māʼidah 5:3

Sayyiduna S'ad (radhiallahu anhu) relates that the Prophet (salallahu alaihi was sallam) said “O S'ad purify your food (and as a result) you will become one whose supplications are accepted. I swear by Him in whose hands the soul of Muhammad lies, verily a servant (of Allah) tosses a Haram (impermissible) food morsel in his stomach (due to which) no good deed is accepted from him for 40 days” (Tabrani 6395)

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radhiallahu anhu) narrates that the Prophet (salallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “Allah the Almighty is pure and accepts only that which is pure. Allah (swt) has commanded the faithful to do that which he commanded the Messengers, and the Almighty has said: “O Messengers! Eat of the pure things and do right”. And Allah the Almighty has said: “O you who believe! Eat of the pure things We have provided you.”, then Rasulullah (salallahu alaihi wasallam) mentioned (the case of) a man traveling on a long ardous journey, greatly troubled and distressed, with disheveled hair crying to Allah swt, O my Lord! O my Lord! But, his food is Haram, his drink is Haram, his dress is Haram and he is nourished with Haram. How then his du’a be accepted (Muslim 1015)

Didn't know you were a tafsir scholar. Amazing analysis.

OP please ignore this.

There are many reasons for eating halal but mainly it's for the welfare of animals.

What specfic issues would you like to know about?

ShadabFakhar thats what certain scholars academic ones have opined for the reason Islam calls for the same slaughter method the Jews had. Cant remember what Tafsir Ibn Kathir said been a while since i read it. Same reason why Islam has so many Jewish prophets in its own canon. To show the skeptical Jews of.the time that it is a continuation of the Judaic tradition and thats why they should accept Muhammad as the final Prophet. The Quran often gives answers for conversations the Prophet was having with others like the Quraysh in Mecca or the Jews in Medina and it answers questions he was being asked. Like when they asked about alcohol or when they called him a madman or when quran said that its halal for you to marry your adopted sons ex wife after the whole episode with Zaynab Bint Jahsh. the Quran responds to a lot.of queries im not sure if that happened over animal slaughter though.

I was actually being sarcastic because I thought your post implied that the Jews were being appeased by the Prophet(pbuh) which wasn't true. Since you've clarified it, all good. Thanks

ShadabFakhar i dont think appeasement is the word i would use but i do think Muhammad was trying to gain their approval from what i've read but mine isnt a religious p.o.v. nor a view that any of the abrahamic books are divinely authored or revealed. from a religious p.o.v of course its a different story and the faithfuls view will differ from mine.

It implies the same thing whether it be appeasement or approval, it being that the Prophet(pbuh) authored the book himself.

Even today you see that the Jews with their beards, hats and kosher meat are vastly similar to Muslims; so you can say that it's more that Islam was a continuation of the Abrahamic religions and had it not been for the Trinity, pork, and wine, all three religions would be pretty much indistinguishable from one another in principle.

It is definitely mentioned in the Holy Quran. You can open the Holy Quran and look it up. Or use Google to search.

scientifically it also has a proof that the halal way of slaughtering will the drain all the blood in the meat and the blood with meat will not be frozen.. it is not painful for animals and also healthy for human beings because the meat drained out of blood will be free of any microbes like bacteria...

pls correct me if i'm wrong on this..

Salam brother and thank you for the info. Really appreciate it

1) If it is defintely mentioned in the Holy Quran why dont you provide reference like the Surah or line
2) Good advice about opening the Quran but I am not the adept at reading it
3) Google didnt provide me proper answers which is why I asked here

i have heard that halal meat is harder than haram meat because the animal tightens its muscles out of fear as the slaughtering begins. is this true? :13:
