Why are Pakistan scheduled to play such few ODIs after the 2019 World Cup?

Why are there no odis for a long time for pak after the cwc??

There's nothing to look forward to after the WC.

Your views??

Poor planning by PCB.

We can still enjoy the Ashes nonetheless.

I think our next series will be in September if I’m not wrong.

Wanted to see what our new odi team would look like.

According to the FTP, Pakistan has 3 ODIs against SL in December. After that, 3 ODIs against Netherlands in July 2020. That's it for the next year after the World Cup.

There is the new 13 team ODI League starting in 2020. There is nothing however to stop us from arranging bilateral series outside the League.

That's just disappointing.
How will we develop our team??
How many are India playing from the end of the WC to July 2020??

Will they arrange any for July/Aug?
Any chance?
There is a slight chance South African team comes to Pakistan this or next year...

Also the heads of the English and Australian Cricket Councils are coming to Pakistan to see if matches can be held there.

Can you tell me How many odis will India play from the end of the WC to July 2020?
Thanks

Lol Pakistan will play against Netherlands :))

On what will they play on turf pitches?

They will play 15 ODI’s till July 2020.

6 against West Indies, 3 each against Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

We probably wont want to see them for a while if our team keeps playing like this.

So that means that these abysmal performances will all be brushed away after some talk shows on TV
And come December the same team will be playing and probably defeating SL and Netherlands later and everything will be back to normal??
This can not happen.

This team doesn’t deserve wasting time of the top tier teams. When was the last time we won an ODI series against Aus, NZ, ENG, SA, or even Bangladesh?

I would think people want to see a new generation of players after the flops from this squad are dumped.

PCB should look to arrange a tri-series with countries not involved between July and September - maybe even Afg,Ban,Sri Lanka, West Indies etc - test the young guns.

Hopefully they can try a youthful squad and rid the experience mantra

Keep Fakhar, Imam and Babar the top 3 - they are the least of Pakistan's problem.

Saud Shakil and Saif Badar need to be tried out.

We need a young keeper batsman - can't think of a better option than Umair Masood for the moment.

Hafeez, Malik, Sarfraz and Imad need to be left in the past.

Pakistan v Netherlands will be a mouth watering contest. Can't wait.

Well done PCB.

No need to play too many odis after the wc. Need to take a break and form a brand new team.

Anyway, 2 world t20s in 2020 and 2021. Need to prepare for these.
Need to win both of them to make up for this lousy WC!

Other then the Aussies in latter 2019 our schedule is always dominated by Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

In a generation where Shaheen Shah Afridi is deemed as the best young prospect is not the generation worth watching.

He's had a bad tournament, but I think he is one of Pakistan's more promising talents. He has the tools, and is exactly the sort of younger player who could do with more ODIs over the next 12 months to hone his talents.

How are we going to develop our 'new' team if we give them no matches to gain experience?? India's playing 15 odis from July 2019 to Mid 2020 and we're playing only 3.
This is just saddening.

Part of the reason why you will never know whether your post World Cup team is any good is because you are playing Odis against Zimbabwe, Netherlands, Sl over a 24 month period.
The new cricket order will hurt countries like Pakistan as we will not get many decent tours against tough countries and there will be now way to figure if you invested in good players because tough tours will come once every two years. By the time you will play the next World Cup you will have basically been play Odis mostly against the bottom 4 teams.

You won’t get getting quantity or quality cricket. Only the big three will. Your best players might struggle in big tournaments because you will only play the top ranked teams then: in between your calendar will be full of playing teams like Netherlands, Ireland, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka in easy conditions
