Between 1990 and 1997, India and Pakistan didn't tour each other and play any test matches with each other or tour each other for bilateral contests. However both teams played each other frequently in Sharjah Cups and Sahara Cups
Sharjah Cups in 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997
Sahara Cups in 1996, 1997, 1998
I wonder why these tournaments were scrapped. I am sure there is plenty of commercial interest for Indo Pakistan contests in the UAE and Canada/USA and if the ICC can give these contests official ICC sponsored status then hopefully the Indian Govt will not have any objections.
Frequent Indo Pakistan contests are good for the players, it will help Pakistani players not choke as they did against India in Melbourne from a match winning position.
