Why aren't Pakistani bowlers made captains, especially fast-bowlers?

Pakistani bowlers have always been better cricketers than batsmen, but when it comes to captaincy the batsmen are always an automatic choice.

Based on performance and overall impact, Pakistani batsmen can never be a choice barring few. At a time when we had the likes of mohd asif around,we kept on shuffling guys but always batsmen.even sarfaraz is a good example,he became an automatic choice and was intentionally planned to groom him as one.

Consider how bowlers are not considered as first choice, imagine if the likes of dhoni, williamson, Smith etc were fast bowlers we would most probably not have them the same "captains ".

The likes of broad or Anderson, quality cricketer are not preferred that often.

Even now the general perception is same that is a captain must always be a batsman. Captains require leadership qualities.I wonder why they can't have them just like batsmen if bowlers are groomed over the time to be captains.

I think when the guys like baber are not around ie, a high quality batsman,Pakistan should always have a bowler as captain as they are alway quite good performers compared to batsmen. Not the likes of some nobody, like the sarfaraz or salman bhutt.

They were never captaincy materials. Wasim and Waqar were the last ones.

It is not just about performance. It is also about leadership quality.

How do we know if someone is or not, babar azam doesn't seem to have it either but we have him. He might have it, but what I'm asking is would we try this like this with saheen afridi just like we have done with babar azam.

Why are fast bowlers never considered an option, considering how terrible usually our batsmen are.

Too much effort to focus on your own bowling and set a field and tactics at the same time.

Since Waqar, we haven't even had a fast bowler who was an automatic selection in a format for an extended period. Akhtar could have been a candidate, and he was injured and in&out to often to even be considered. Perhaps Gul is another in T20's and ODIs - but his career was effectively over by his early 30's. If he had continued his form, he could've been T20 captain.

Sarfraz, Misbah, Afridi, Babar are all who were well established starters when they became captains.

If Shaheen stays injury free, and continues his form, he could be a captaincy candidate in 5 years.

But then we have players like Azhar Ali or Asad Shafiq who are given chances after chances as batsmen and are thus eligible for captaincy which is unfair.

Fast bowlers are more susceptible to injuries, so they would not be completely reliable, unlike batsmen.

Additionally, fast bowlers have a greater chance of being rotated to manage their workload.

I think the PCB sees our pacers as emotional and expressive beings which they do not want in their leader.
They would rather have a cool cucumber who would improve Pak's image on the field and not ask too many questions.

Guys like YK, Afridi were exceptions in that regard.

Why is pakistan being singled out can you guys actually name any long term fast bowling captain from another country in the last 20-25 years.
