Why can't Wahab Riaz be made stand-in captain?

Wahab riaz is the most senior guy in the team. He aint making a comeback and is a permanent member, thus why cant he be the stand in captain?

Do you think its because of the Pakistani thinking of that onpy batsmen can lead a team not a bowler

That's what I have been asking in other threads. Wahab is a senior members of the team, gives his 100% performs better in pressure situation. Better communication skill than all others and to me he was always a captaincy material.

Now , almost like a knee jerk reaction, some saying " he should not be in the team" , unfortunately that you can say for almost everyone in the team at the moment. It doesn't have a single world class player and Wahab is better than many.

A vastly experienced cricketer.
Performs better under pressure.
A senior memes of the team
Best communication skill among all.

Wahab had a decent Test series (relative to everyone else) and is one of the fittest players we have so no chance of him breaking down all the time.

Seems to jazbaati for me to become captain but would probably be an upgrade over Hafeez...

none of those qualify you for captaincy... being a senior, being experienced, not being awful... that doesn't mean you can be captain

Wahab isn't a proven leader, to my knowledge he has never captained for an extended time at any level, he doesn't have the composure of a leader, he isn't an elite performer

just because he's a senior and he's experienced in no way qualifies him to be the captian
