Why do cricketers in the modern era make their international debut so late?

In past times,Cricketers like Wasim Akram,Sachin Tendulkar,Waqar etc used to make their debuts in teen or when they were in early 20s but now it seems like player is not deemed fit for international cricket until he's in mid 20s which could be detrimental to the skills and ability of youngsters by playing substandard quality of cricket in domestic.

Shadab, amir, cummins, mustafizur, virat kohli, umar akmal, rabada, Alzari joseph etc. All made their debuts when they were teenagers or around 20-21.

The trend isnt dead by any means.

Hasan Ali made debut at 22, Babar Azam at 20, Sami Aslam at 19, Shadab Khan at 18.

I think more and more teams are wanting cricketers who are well prepared for international cricket and a cricketer doesnt have to learn it in the international arena.

I am all for exceptional talents debuting earlier esp pacers, some cricketers lose their raw mojo when left to "discover their game" in domestic cricket.
