Simple enough question :13:

Some threads span multiple years with thousands of posts yet others go completely noticed

Is it due unique topic of interest?

A topic that spans the test of time?

Dejavu?

Interesting view points?

What is the secret? :13:

Thread has to be interesting and should have long term relevance. Being popular as a poster also plays a massive part from what i have noticed.

The more controversial, the more 'arguments', the longer the thread.

It's almost always a topic that has long term potential and can be bumped repeatedly in the future. Mostly, such threads are based on young and upcoming players (Babar Azam, Umar Akmal, Muhammad Amir etc), great players who are controversial (AB De Villiers, Kohli, Amla), also ATGs of yesteryear (Imran GOAT Khan, SRT) and comparison threads between current players, ex players or cross time periods/eras too.

In general, let's say threads that go over a page or so, quite often it depends on how established the poster is and also the thread topic/idea.

Many people feel uncomfortable expressing their political views especially when it comes to matters about the US and Israel.

Uncle Sam is watching us

People feel free discussing masala topics

Unfortunately the "popularity" part is very true.

Threads that are ridiculous, threads that become relevant again a long time after the thread starts, or a thread that is just a gem are ones that stay around for ages.

Big Mac do you remember that golden thread about the moon being a giant alien spaceship or something like that? :)))
