"Why does Afridi need to be captain to help Pakistan win the World Cup?" : Asim Kamal

There is no planning, you are selecting Test side from the T20 format. It will result in mediocre players, there will not be any world class players in Pakistan in the near future and the team’s performance will remain the same. If a player is able to hit a 106 meter six then he is a capable player, it is how the dynamics have changed,” he stated

Oh my god he hits the nail on the head with this, so true, he absolutely murders any justifications that wee given by Inzi..

Kamal is brutally candid and honest. Absolutely true each word he has said.

Saad Ali and Usman Salahuddin were picked purely on 4-day format basis. The criticism Inzi is recieving due to Fawad Alam is unreasonable. Fawad is not some legendary warrior Inzi has banished to the lands beyond, he is merely a good batter who would have failed horribly in England and then dumped forever from international cricket. I believe Inzi has given Fawad an unintentional lifeline. Fawad will be in the Test team come October, this I'm sure of.

Agree with your assessment. Fawad has a better chance of cementing his position in UAE than in England. It will be interesting to see how our young batsmen cope with the English conditions, and the bowlers of the caliber of Anderson and Broad. It definitely won't be easy especially if the pitches offer lateral movement to the bowlers.

Presumed assumptions have been a good bashing stick for Fawad's omission and pre-decided failures... however its not you, he was never deemed good enough even in his prime.

Or the omission is used by definining the margins of a batter, superior to fawad... these two yardsticks are measures that have been used to ignore Fawad as a player.. nothing

If not that, then the good old he can't hit a six.. he has an ugly stance etc etc

If you don't like him, have a bias against him, don't want him in the side, fine.. but please don't enforce your opinions on someone else. I have been on this thread for too to keep listening to these 3 points against Fawad... If I have an option to have Fawad in the side, I would over any one of these batsman... you can keep your own opiniion and be happy with it :)

I wonder if anyone knows the real reason why Asim Kamal was ousted from the national team back in 2005.

Always seemed like a solid middle order batsman - his exclusion still seems very puzzling to this day...
