Why don't Indian fast bowlers have charisma compared to Pakistan bowlers?

Despite bowlers like Bumrah having superior pace and skills to the current bowlers in the Pakistan bowling attack. He cannot match even the charisma or presence of someone like Hasan Ali. Hasan is wild and aggressive with the fast bowler attitude. Whilst bumrah after bowling a bouncer looks like a milkman whose just milked his cow.

So my question is why Indian fast bowlers are so uninspiring?
 
That's just how Indians are buddy. Even Kohli's aggression is fake.

This works both ways though. Pakistani batsmen have no temperament while Indians can bat for days.
 
Tbh my favourite Indian fast bowler ever was sreesanth. He at least roamed around the field like a fast bowler and had fire in his eyes.

You cannot have charisma when you are bowling 120 kmph thunder bolts. India right through its history never had an out and out fast bowler. Even SL produced Malinga and he is better than every Indian pacer in LOI format.

Indian bowlers lack aggression. At least Bumrah has pace and skills. But his body language is apologetic. He is still super good. The rest a joke barring BK in helpful conditions.

The only Indian bowler with fire in his eyes was Kumble. He was a fast bowler trapped in spinners body.

I always have a laugh when people who support boring bowlers like Amir, who bowls like a low key bowling machine, talk of others lacking charisma. The way commentators go gaga over Bumrah and Shami, with palatable excitement, it shows very much that all this talk of lacking charisma is coming from a very biased point of view and neutrals don't think the same

This post seems hilarious when you consider that even BK and Pandya are faster than Pakistani main line bowlers. And shami and Bumrah are way ahead in pace and skills both
 
Ohh phuleez don't brag anything with respect to pace, apart from bumrah and bhuvi to some extent none of the Indian bowlers come close to pak bowlers and our young brigade can hit 150k as well.

Nagarkoti clocked 147 kph and Shivam mavi clocked 143 kph even in under-19 world cup.
 
We have produced mostly garbage in the name of fast bowlers until lately. Even the really good ones by Indian standards in the past (Kapil, Zaheer) were just average by world standards. It's like asking why batsmen averaging below 40 lack charisma. Charisma comes with world class performance for a good amount of time.

If Bumrah can manage an average of 23 odd after 50 Tests or so he will start attaining charisma. Look at Rabada, he has been a world class bowler for 37 Tests till now. And it's now that his name is taken in awe by the fans.

And no, Hasan Ali is not a star yet. Maybe among Pak fans he is, but not so in the rest of the cricketing fraternity. Hasan Ali's case is much like how Pak fans used to drool over Amir before his ban, although he was never a class performer till that point, merely showing glimpses of talent.

I never knew that wild celebration is referred as charisma..Indian bowlers just keep picking wickets and they leave charisma for Pak bowlers.

At least we Indian fans have mostly known how good we were back in the 80's and the 90's. Back in the 90's Pakistan had one of the greatest bowling line ups in the history of the game, and we had one of the worst ever.

I'll add this - Hasan Ali does have it in him to be a really special bowler in the long run. I was absolutely awe struck by him in the Champions Trophy. Still a young bloke, has plenty of time.

Pakistani fans who grew up before the 2000s are particularly delusional because they have seen Pakistan cricket at its glory. Until the 2000s, although India always thrashed Pakistan in high stake games, but teams were comparable when it came to overall performance. However, in the last 15 years or so, Indian cricket has left Pakistan cricket in its dust which they cannot digest.

However, unless Pakistan cricket rises again which I don't think it will, the future generation of Pakistani fans will be more humble and open-minded.
 
Bumrah has had 1-2 good seasons, will be interested to see if he can keep this up for long. Have seen so many Indian bowlers fade away after a while.

Check out Saini's spell today against Andhra or Hyderabad(forgot). He was bowling aag above 145+. He bowled one or 2 at 150 but one I watched live was hooked to six. :(

Yes this is also evident by Mr Chadda's bashing of the 90s team, for instance he cited Pakistan as an inferior ODI side than SL and according to him "being a top 4 side was no big deal". I was also informed that Adam Gilchrist was the best wicket keeper of the 90s even though he debuted in the last 2-3 months of 1999 :))

6-8 months back he was adamant Pakistan would beat India and go on to win the Asia Cup, so yes this seems about right Mamoon.

I understand from where you are coming but can't agree - I think your assumption is totally opposite. PAK Fans who have watched PAK team before 2000s or have started watching the team in 1970s, 1980s are actually quite open-minded and somewhat humble here - they do realize the difference between Imran Khan & Faheem Ashraf. There could be leg-pulling here & there, but I have seen most of them often critical of own team/players or silent - at least don't try to insult Josh Buttler here, or talk about "Character", "Leadership", "Charisma". I do realize their feelings as I myself is one of them.

It's the "noujuans" that often go over board and then they are forced to back that with various "unpolished" ways, to save face in PP - sometimes bringing history, insulting other teams & their fans, being critical to other country/players in their failure, putting colorful future on talent, potential, speed, hunger .... even height, bringing out of context or irrelevant comparison ..... Normally, BD (& it's fans) gets the undue share - one reason being the pay-back they receive for years long trolling, but more or less across the board everyone had their fair shares. Whenever any team is in trouble - now Lankans stakes are high, but during & after Asia Cup it was their "hard" time, IND did their shift till Day 4 of Adelaide Test and BD had about 6 weeks of respite -precisely between 2nd Test of ZIM to before 3rd T20I vs WIN. Poms have gone through that during WIN Test series and my hunch is that next is SAF .... unless AUS loses the series in UAE. Then after WC, Kiwis are going to tour SRL & BD ........

If you follow the posts, or OP from different posters and correlate that with the "debut" of poster in PP, you'll notice an indicative trend here, to alter your judgement. Even this thread is one such ..... and you got into the trap of posting here (pulled me as well in it) - as if his diesel engine celebration makes Hasan Ali more charismatic than Bumrah.

I don't think future is that bright to be honest in this regard - rather I see an alarming trend ... most of the posters of that generation have left PP partially or permanently, I myself have reduced my time significantly, most of the other BD & SRL posters are inactive in PP (Can't recall one Lankan regular these days), hardly any Afghans, Kiwis, Pom or Aussie here either, and most Indians will be less active as well once their team is goes through a down slide ............... Rather what is left in PP mostly is in that class of opening a new thread regarding what BD & ZIM needs to learn from SRL, immediately after Lankans clean swept a side, who happens to walk past PAK 3-0 a month back. May be in distant future - at least, I hope so, and wish that I'll be alive till that day.

We are not talking about skills, we are talking about charisma. Bumrah, imo, is the most uncharismatic bowler out there, never seen any aggression from him- just like bhuvneshwar kumar. Ishant sharma and shami on the other hand, have shown fast bowler aggression on multiple occasions. Ideal fast bowler would have both charisma and skills- like wasim akram, brett lee etc.

Charisma doesn't just mean charm,it also means presence, individuality and aura.

Even in Australia, only Starc is charismatic. Demerit points have neutered fast bowlers.
 
LOL wot m8 ? Who cares ? We need bowlers that can win our match, who cares about Charisma. Charisma and individuality is becoming less and less this day and age. There are no real characters anymore.

I don't claim to be an expert, just had to correct another poster's claims about Gilchrist being the "90's test premier wicket keeper" when he actually debuted for Australia in November 1999.

You want me to continue point scoring when/if Pakistan wins a major series, despite you and Mamoon not considering the Pakistan team as worthy of your time?

Pakistan team in the 90s was a bunch of individuals, but not a great team to reminisce about by any means. Rather than make snide comments, please go and check our records. We had our fair share of humiliations with the likes of Anwar, Inzi, Wasim and Waqar. Those are four household names in Pakistan cricket. Case in point, the Test team under Misbah has more accomplishments than the 90s team. Agree or disagree?

Gilchrist is the only wicket-keeper worth discussing, who made his debut in the 90s. He made his test debut in 1999, and ODI debut in 1997 IIRC. He made an impact straightaway.
 
I can understand non-Indian fans belittling kapil. Some Indians who feel they know all running kapil down.

Did any one of you guys know what I'd the true value of kapil to Indian and world cricket.

Kapil is average? Come on...**....

We really do not deserve him and kumble just because of guys like these.
 
can somebody please explain how current Pakistan bowling unit is more charismatic than India's. Even if you are talking about aggression, I don't think any bowler from both sides is that aggressive in character except for Shami may be. May be I am biased but I would prefer to watch Indian bowling more than Pakistan bowling. And Skill wise, I don't have to explain.

Bumrah has plenty of personality.

I remember years ago when he had no reputation he bowled AB and give him a send-off and one publication wrote "This is like a street artist abusing Matisse about his painting technique". Even then all the stats and data was suggesting Bumrah was world-class whereas most self-appointed experts wrote him off for his weird action.

The point is Bumrah has plenty of passion and fire. He is also very well established while Hassan Ali became established one year ago. It's hard to be so pumped up about something that is basically normal; and that is what his success has become. You don't see Kohli or Sharma going berserk after every century either, and that's because they are used to it.

Other than that it's because the current Indian set-up (and some others) have been personality cults centered around larger than life senior batsmen; think of Ganguly and Kohli and their on-field behaviour and it's hard to outstage. During Dhoni's more restrained captaincy, we did have Sreesanth, and whatever else you say, no one can claim he didn't have 'charisma/character/passion'.

Pakistan has had more normal captains for the most part, and even Sarfraz now seems to like the more enthusiastic and passionate type of juniors.
 
Seeing the thread, i think running like a headless chicken after a wicket is called "charisma" lol Seriously? We prefer being "cool" rather than "hyperactive". There is a reason why Sreesanth is not well liked.

It could be because none of their bowlers have fast, long and aggressive run ups. This is what made a Shoaib Akhter, Waqar and the rest charismatic.

Anyways, you guys have Bumrah, he is the real deal! And then you have Kuldeep, very fine bowler.
