I am fed up with media reporting!

Why they can get away with anything?

How come they have gotten so much power?

Why are they supported by justice department these much?

Why doesn't anyone take a single responsibility?

What are the ways we, the public improve the quality of media?

What do we give lots of hits to trash talk?

Did society make the media the way it is or media made the society?

I respect free speech but free speech ke naam pe kuch bhi?

Media can change the perception of individuals and political entities.

You cannot put restrictions on media. Anybody can say anything. But it is up to the people whether to believe what the 24/7 News channels say.

It's a double edged sword. I would prefer press and media freedom over putting restrictions on them.

Media needs to be regulated. No hate preachers should be allowed. Thats the only solution.

You have to realize that no matter what media or source you are listening to. Everyone one has their own narrative so you have to question everything you see because most of the time its half truths. I like to get as much info as I can and then form my own opinion

These days everyone has access to social media it's a blessing and a curse. I mean the world is connected more than ever and information is spread out so quickly but you also have a enormous amount of fake news being spread which has lead to many people being killed.

Because everyone has a mobile phone, you are connected to media all the time. News is everything on social media.

This is nothing new, wars have been won for centuries and the public has unknowingly accepted atrocities as keeping the peace. Look up propaganda examples on google for the 1800s.

Social media may have magnified mayters but it’s also allowed more truth to come out.

Imagine weapons of mass destruction happening in 2019. The public would be much more aware.

People are addicted to the internet. We read newspapers taking everything they say as truthful. As it is impossible to do our own research on every story we trust the media unconditionally as being the truth tellers even when their reports are contradictory from one day to the next. It has gotten worse over the past 20 years or something. I have to say that the American and Indian media is the worst, they should be aired on the comedy channel:maqsood They realise that people can do zilch about the lies they tell so the show goes on.

They always have been to an extent. Over a hundred years ago, The Times (UK newspaper) used to have a direct influence on the British Prime Minister and this was at the height of power of the British Empire. Also, look at all the moguls that run the media.

Media is creating a lot of confusion these days. They can make anyone a hero and anyone a devil. As muslims, we can say it was already predicted that an age of deception will come where nobody will know what to believe.

We have to give a nod to the Indian sages here, in the caste system the elite have always been the rich and powerful, wealth being recognised with it's own deity with the goddess Lakshmi. The ordinary people have not developed enough wisdom or intelligence and thus need to be led by the ruling classes and steered in the right direction.

These are of course my own ramblings, not likely to be nominated for any POTW awards, but I would be happy to be corrected by our Hindu members whether I am on the right track.
