Why haven't local Pakistani sports broadcasting networks reached international standards?

It puzzles me as to why does the PCB keep having to go to the likes of Ten Sports, Sony, Star Sports, ESPN e.t.c. for broadcasting rights?

In 70 plus years of Pakistan's existence where our media industry has really proliferated in the last 15-20 years, we do not have a single Sports Broad Casting House or net work that can match international broadcasting standards and quality.

The likes of Geo Super come from a filthy rich Media group i.e. Jang Group. PTV Sports is also not necessarily a poor organization. These channels have been unable to procure modern equipment, train their staff and personnel, hire world class commentators to meet international standards?

Forget these two, no one in the Pakistani Market wants to take advantage of this opportunity and step up to the plate?

ROI is not favorable, its expensive to buy new set up.

Also, not enough local expertise.

Can local expertise not be trained and developed. How much will it cost? Someone has to start from somewhere. The lack of an entrepreneurial culture in Pakistan in comparison to our neighbors is shocking.

You are aware of the problems in your country and yet you say things like this.
What these stupid arrogant Indians don't realize is that there will come a time when Pakistan's economy will be on the up swing, that Pakistan's Cricket will be on the up swing, where India Pakistan relations will be normalized and perhaps Kashmir issue might even be resolved.
You honestly think things are going to change to that extent?

Why restrict that question to just media houses, why hasn't Pakistan been able to create any global name in any industry? Mind it Pakistan in 1947 started of on a strong footing as only the rich Muslims in India were able to afford means to migrate to Pakistan so it had a certain demographic/economic advantage over India then. Today you have many Indians and many Indian companies at the top echelons of global companies while Pakistan often acts as a mercenary nation fighting others wars for money. So restricting this question to just media is not fair, why hasn't Pakistan done anything of notice in the tourism sector or information technology industry or satellites & communications or metals etc etc .

Man, your point is correct. Unfortunately we have been drowning in corruption for past few decades. Even up until the 1970's Pakistan's condition wasn't as bad as it is know. Hope that things can change sometime soon...

I will provide better coverage for PSL with my cell phone than PTV will with their cameras from 1960s. But I can't match PTV rates.

To be honest, Pakistan wasted the 90's in corruption whereas the economic reforms India introduced in the 90's have translated into big results now in 2019. A wasted decade by Pakistan.
