Why Indian team has become a bunny of Aussie sides in ICC tournament finals?

How many finals Pakistan won against Australia…. None

Check record every time Australia def aged Pakistan in KO

Aus is a sporty nation, in every sport they do really well to compete or dominate.
Even with B, C team one expects them to show up and never surrender.

Having said that ,the Caribbean nations esp Jamaica, T and T, AB perform even better per capita.

Ya.. after 2000 they are the enforcers. It is comical of everyone calling India is Australia's bunny when the head to head record is equal now.

Eng defeated them 2010 t20 finals .
 
India is a bunny of expectations. People dont realize the hype and pressure around these finals, bring any team and we will likely bottle it. Australia just happened to be there more often.

Actually we have a good record against Aussies if we consider all knockouts ( and not just the finals ). We have stopped them more often than any other team in white ball ICC tournaments.

We have to keep in mind Australia didn't have some of their players for CT 2025. They didn't have Cummins, Hazlewood, and Starc.

Aside from Aus beating us
Some painful losses in icc tournaments were:
2014 vs lanka in final. Should have won
2017 champions trophy we were the better team on paper. Missed opportunity at toss
Champions trophy final vs nz in 2000 could have won tbh
Wtc 2021 could have drawn easily vs nz.
WC semi final loss to nz 2019. That was very unlucky. Think we would have beaten England comfortably in the final
There was one to Aus in 87 too I believe.

Other losses like to lanka in 96 don’t hurt cause they were the better team at the time

In finals?? yeah we can say that India is lagging behind but India did defeat them recently in the semi final of the CT. A win against aussies in knockout for India is not a small thing Yeah?

India vs Aus in icc tournaments overall is 12-12

In knock outs it’s 5-3 in Indias favour in all icc events inclusive of t20 and odi


Aus ko wins were in 2 finals and one in semis.

India and West Indies share the best record against Australia in ICC knockout stages (ODI and T20 events combined), both with a 50% win percentage for West Indies and 55.6% for India.

You make it really hard for the rest of us to troll India when you make these absurd statements, is it deliberate? When did Aus with tulla Head beat a full strength Indian side? In ODI WC they were missing Pandya (and got very lucky with toss as India's pitch tampering thankfully backfired), in their first test series win in Aus, they won with Siraj, Saini, Natabanjan and a bunch of no namers, in WTC final India were missing Pant and Bhumrah. They lost 2 home test series in a row to India and haven't come close to touching India in India since early 2000s. We should have booted Aus out in 2021 WC when Imad messed up for us.

They were group games and kind do or die for both teams.

This Indian side still has plenty of weaknesses to be compared to Aus of 2000 to 2007.
 
Australia has lost only 3 big finals in their history (out of 12 they played.). ODI World Cup final in 75 and 96 (so they last lost 30 years ago) and T20 final in 2010 (last lost 15 years ago)

So all teams are australia's bunnies in final.

Are you ok? Who compared it to Aus of 2007 LOL! I mentioned India have dominated Border Gavasker trophy and this recent 3-1 win at home for Australia was their first BGT win in 10 years or something like that and came on the heels of 2 consecutive series losses to Aus and Aus never beat India in a series in India post early 2000s correct me if I am wrong.

True. It was discussed earlier before your posts, not by you but in general. So I was just addressing this points.

Yes that’s right Aus only beat India recently in a test series. That too when india missed shami and a couple of youngsters whom I believe would have done way better than washed up kohli and Rohit. Aus would have been in trouble if India were at full strength.

But it is what it is. Yes Aus last best India in 04.

For me though this year is a failure still

Even though we won two titles

We lost at home 0-3 to effin’ nz. A very beatable nz team. Unpardonable

Sure they can say they focused more on white ball blah blah but it’s disgraceful to lose a test series at home. That too a whitewash

If India is a bunny, by the same account what does it make Bangladesh on the animal kingdom who gets chitrol from every team including minnows- ??

Not calling Bangladeshis 🪳 but speaking in the same context.

All that matters to me is

India 4 champions trophies (including World Series championship) vs Australia 2
India 2 WT20s vs Australia 1 Champion trophies
India 2 WC’s vs Australia 6 world cups

Also factor all the Asia cups India wins which is pretty competitive as it is played in subcontinent where teams like Pak, Afghan, Bangladesh and Srilanka also become competitive.

8 vs 9 not as bad as I thought 👍

Nehru cup was a random invitational tournament

World Series 1985 was called champions of champions including all test playing nations of that time. Similar to knockout cup in 1998 which SA won which was later called CT.

If you have a bit of understanding of cricket you would know that.

Anyway fine I will lose sleep over 7 championships vs 9 for Australia if that makes you feel better 👍

Yes Benson & HEdges was a major multi national event. INdia wiped floor with every team in that tournament.

It is not officially an ICC tournament, it can be called anything. Tomorrow BD can start a series called Champions Cup and some will claim it is an official ICC tournament using your logic. No need to get personal about cricket understanding, I have been watching cricket longer than you have been around most likely.

No need to invent numbers either - India have 7. Australia have 10 - 6 WCs, 1 T20 WC, 2 CT, 1 World Test Championship.
