Indian teams and their peculiar love with losing ICC tournament finals on Sunday is something really astonishing.

For instance:

India lost CT 2017 final on Sunday, June 18

India lost CWC 2023 final on Sunday, November 19

Indian women team lost Women T20 WC 2020 on Sunday, March 08

India U19 team lost U19 ODI WC final on Sunday, February 11

India U19 Lost Asia Cup Final against Bangladesh on Sunday, December 08,2024

And the list continues....

But fun fact India won ICC T20 WC 2024 final on Saturday, June 29. So is Sunday unlucky for it or is it part of some jinx?

At least Gukesh Dommaraj drew with Ding liren , someone who is almost double in age and experience , in the world chess champs title in singapore, and the title clash is still open.....Go ya diamond teen champ...

pak are a rubbish team, despite india being close to their strongest team ever fans are still so keen to compare themselves to the worst Pakistani team in history shows how much you guys truly love pak and are lost without comparing yourself to pak. its heartening :ashwin

It’s just a fun post. I mean we have a won a lot of trophies in different age groups. If you’re in the finals frequently you’re bound to have a lot of defeats too.
 
Sunday is peak Indian eye-balls day. It's the day when most Indians are free and chilling at home. Not sure why Sunday. However it does mean maximum eye-balls meaning maximum exposure meaning maximum revenue potential.
 
As per reports, India Pakistan clash will take place on Sunday, Feb 23,2025.

Not sure whether a second chance for India to wipe out the fateful memories of last CT encounters between these two sides on Sunday or whether a second chance to glory for Pakistan.

India beat Pakistan in last CT group stage game on 4th June which was also on a Sunday.

Mar 10 1985 Sunday World Champions India smacking Imran and Javed’s Pakistan off by 8 wickets in B H World Championship Cricket Final.

Easily the best as Imran Khan and Javed Miandad are considered Top Pakistani cricketers.

Less superstars and better work ethic made sure overhyped Pakistan couldn’t beat India in a final for such an important championship.

World T20 match between IND
and PAK was on Sunday .

As was the 2019 CWC match between these two.

Very generous of you to forget the beautiful memories of these matches and go back to CT '17 and patronise India :)
 
There is no real connection between sunday and India losing a game. It could be a coincidence but yeah, India did lose games on Sunday but they also won many.

I think Asia cup 356 matcj is also on Sunday albeit pak lost on monday.

India and Sundays have a long history. Another defeat on Sunday. addition to a list that is expanding.
 
A peaceful Sunday at last after a long time for our Indian friends... although the culprits were Aussies but I fear Pakistan fans would be the next target to extract revenge.

Certainly a storm will hit this thread on February 23 one way or the other. Most probably this way :kp
 
Some common sense needed here. All finals are scheduled on Sundays for max audience viewing. Same goes for an Ind-Pak ICC game - they will have it on Sunday as much as possible for max viewership. Ind losing on Sundays means it's qualifying for a large number of finals consistently . Would be the same if its a Mon or Fri or Wed. The pertinent issue would be Ind needs to rectify its finals record. Have to take a jab here. For Pak , it doesnt matter because no matter what day , it doesnt matter because they are not qualifying for a final anyway !;)

Yeah that is fine. India plays good cricket whole tournament but they end up choking in the finals. That is is not a small achievement actually to play so many knockout games.

I think you should qualify that statement: Pakistan is a rubbish team (your words not mine)… and that rubbishness is sticky, now onto its second decade of mediocrity.

nah, pak were top of the test pile in 2016, and manhandled India in 2017 ct trophy final even with a relatively weak squad, this is the worst pak team ever across formats.

FYI just a perfunctory examination of 2016 test results: Pakistan won two against West Indies and another against England but lost two to England, one to West Indies, one to Australia and another to New Zealand. I don’t think that year was as good for your team as you think it was…
