Why is the A team management treating Saud Shakeel so badly?

Title says it all. This guy has all potential with batting but management keep sending him at no. 7. Why the coach doesno't interfere and send him no. 3 or 4?

Looks like captain, coach and managements are jealous of him and want to destroy his career.

A team selection has done more harm to Saud than good. With his form in domestic team he could have been highest run scorer in one day cup with his team winning the title some. Here selfishness is ruining him. Before going to A tour he had 350+ runs @ average of 100+ with sr of 90+

Guys please do the same if you don't want to see another Fawad or Sadaf to be making.

Because we have no idea how to develop batsmen. Only in Pakistan is it a disease to have your best batsmen down the order.

That's what happens when you have an incompetent team management with the A team and a captain who plays politics like Mohammad Rizwan who is more worried about staking a claim for the national team than doing what's right and batting below the SPECIALIST middle order batsman as a wicket-keeper batsman should unless they're Kumar Sangakkara.

How come Mohammad saad and Mohammad Rizwan bats above Saud shakeel? Anyway he will only get better and better irrespective of mismanagement.

Other Team Sends Youngsters At Top Or Middle To See There Potential,
And There Pakistan Who Destroy Career Sending Them With Tailenders...

Open corruption.

This needs to be highlighted. Someone make Mani look into this!

What hope you have from A team, when Inzi the revolutionary chose to select his 32 averaging nephew over Shakeel who averages 50 after same number of matches.

Best. Chief. Selector. Ever. :inzi2

I feel for this guy.

Seems like some players feel they deserve to be ahead of him in the batting order.

I think its a clear case of Rizwan's selfishness. Wont blame anyone else.. Rizwan scored few centuries in one days and promoted himself up here too over frontline batsmen Saad and Saud..

Rizwan and Basit.

Riz is a bad choice for internationals and hope stays out.

If you see scorecard of A team matches you would see that Shakeel is bowling plenty of overs, maybe that is what made the management think of him as an "alrounder" and send him to the spots designated for alrounders (only in a Pakistani team).

Why do these young batsmen ruin their chances of selection by trying to be "alrounders"? Same happened with Talat.

Its probably because they think it increases their chances of selection based on utility. Cant really blame them. The problem is with the coaches who cant differentiate between front line batsmen who can chip in with a few overs and proper allrounders.

I am sure few people are trying to protect some open spots from one more competitor. Even if I take that they can’t see the batting skills, they can’t ignore the numbers. Categorically he is forced into a role of so called all-rounder who should fight for a spot with Shadab, Imad, Nawaz ... with that sort of batting stats when PAK top order in ODI is constantly losing 2-3 wickets in PP. As if, instead of an added quality, capability to bowl has become a curse for him. It’s quite a cunning tactics actually - he is being forced to fight it out with two of the strongest players in team, for one spot whereas he should have been in contention for 1 of at least 4 loose spots in top 5 with several passengers enjoying a free ride.

I don’t think these Twitters going to work. It could have worked had these people were not aware - but they know exactly what they are doing, so answer is ready as well - the players sent ahead of him are not failing, he was sent at 3 and he failed, he won a game from 7 which suggests management were right ..... he’ll be given chance in future - we look after every young player. I am sure, if they bother to respond, answer will be within these lines.

Only way can work (not sure, depends on the thickness of skin) - someone asks PCB’s selectors & junior team’s manager point blank in a live telecast with few data presented here in PP and don’t allow to escape with a smokescreen. May be PP can publish an article in a national newspaper or magazine, but not sure if that’ll work either.

I do feel that, Mickey has learned to survive in PCB - he is well paid and he is happy with a role that actually allowing him to be in comfort zone by making people happy, rather than unhappy - team result doesn’t matter much, therefore he is not bothered much about who is given chance and who is not.

He is not being treated badly. The people who had good seasons last time are being rewarded. Usman has been consistent for years. Saad had a fantastic season last time. Saud has age on his side. He has just had a half a season in good form. So he can surely wait.

Basit Ali is a shady rigid individual. Its a shame that he is still associated with our cricket.

He should be batting in the top order, consistently.

No lower than No. 4.

He is the complete product and his stats would have been better if he wasn't being forced to bat down the order.

Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel are both middle-order batsmen.

Both are trying to break into the national team

Rizwan is the captain of the Pakistan A team.

Go figure.

Another super knock by Saud in pressure match and under difficult circumstances.

Semifinal of tournament with team Runrate of only 3.85 only and Saud scores 62 (72) with 7 fours at an impressive SR of 86.

Crunch match at the insecure guy guilty of mishandling Saud in last 2 months along with Coaching staff managed SR of only 70 and showed his real potential.

He and Saad both are mediocre. Atleast Saad is not selfish like Babar

Saad has limited skillset but he is gutsy, hardworking and consistent performer. Saud on the other hand is classical batsman with lazy elegance and finesse in his batting plus he is dynamic with shots all round the ground against pace and spin.

After Saeed Anwar & Mohammad Yousaf he is most stylish batsman who is going to wear Pakistan Cap InshaAllah.

It’s evident that you haven’t seen Saud Shakeel bat for Pakistan U-19, Khi, Ptv or Pakistan A.

Babar puts price on his wicket and that is good and responsible stuff from him. Babar, Haris & Saud are future of Pakistan Cricket and Saad (Test matches) also.

Second highest today against India (62) so the guy can play!
