Why is the PCB not considering hosting a Trilateral series twice a year?

I think its a good idea, thre are SL,WI,BD,AFG,ZIM,IRL . we can host some kind of Trilateral series at home twice in a year, and try to make money in our own style .

It will depend on the Cost Benefit analysis of the series.

because one of the teams will be Zimbabwe

And it is more likely to not qualify for the finals (given how bad we were in last 2 years)

Twice a year would be serious over kill to sleep inducing and cure for insomnia levels.

But I think it would be nice if Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies and Sri Lanka got together and held a multination tournament every couple of years - with rotating hosts. Maybe we could invite a minnow each time too and rotate which minnow we invite (gives them exposure). A single round robin tournament with top 2 playing a final rotated hosts across the 4 countries.

I can see something like that working but to have 2 tri series a year in Pakistan would just be Zzzzzzzz after the first couple.

Once in a while could be good, but surely Pakistan need to be playing the better teams to improve, not SA, WI, AFG etc. The more you play against minnows the more you descend into minnow status.

Tri series and Quadrangular series were a trend in the 90s and early 00s. It was fun really.

The world series in Australia every year was such a brilliant tournament.

Unfortunately as the cost benefit of 'neutral games' during the tri series is not high, the idea is almost non existent now. Cricket has become more of a business anyways.

The only way a nation can have a tri series is if the 3rd team is India. Then the cost benefit will still be there.

I miss those tri-series and quadrangular series. These were very common in 90's and even 2000's.

Pakistan should definitely try to arrange these with teams like Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, West Indies, Bangladesh, and even South Africa.
