The 2018 PSL tournament will have be having a new team, Multan. This would mean that there will be 6 teams in the next PSL.

Now i think for this PSL, teams will have to let go many players and retain maybe 10, meaning all the players they let go could be taken by other teams.

In my opinion they shouldn't risk all the players of all the 5 teams just for the sake of 1 new franchise.

I think an expansion draft should take place.

In an expansion draft, the new team gets to pick players other teams roster. The other teams could retain a number of players, and make another list of players that could make them vulnerable of being selected by Multan.

This way, teams like Peshawar won't have to risk losing their players to teams like Islamabad or Karachi.

With Multan there would be 5 teams

In any case. Each of the existing 4 teams will be able to hold on to 10 of their players so in effect can hold onto the core of their teams.

:)). if we had 4 teams, the whole play off format would had been different

Problem is not holding on to players. Problem is losing your players to other existing teams.

This is not needed. Why should each year a team losing its good players to rivals?

IMO teams should be able to retain 3 international,7 Pakistani apart from the 2 in emerging.Rest should be sent back to the draft.Supplementary players should also be put in the draft.Teams should also be able to exchange players in the transfer window.

That means around 6 players from each team(assuming squad of 18)will be put in the draft.Along with others in the draft, that will be good enough.

I think Shoaib Malik will be the new Multan skipper, since Afridi has moved to Karachi Kings and Sanga is probably retiring after the county season.

WE still need to keep one thing in mind. Players dont make any decision here, the Team management does.

Afridi's move to Karachi won't be confirm till the retain and release list is confirmed.

Malik moving to Multan is only possible if Malik is released by Karachi.

Peshawar needs to act smart here. Afridi shouldn't be released, but he should be traded away. Thing is, the Peshawar management has an advantage here. They know which player wants to leave and who is willing to get him. Peshawar should take Karachi's best player. Like trading Afridi for Malik or Babar Azam. Something along those lines.

Haha my bad. Dunno what I was thinking lol

I think 10 players is fine

You can hold onto the core of your team (Core is just 5-6 players max) and a few of the better ones
