Why was Hasan Ali under-bowled?

This was surprising to me and may be for many others in this forum. With a total of 163 to defend in 50 overs, the priority for the defending team is to get wickets at regular intervals and with this objective, have your best set of bowlers in operation.

However for some wierd reason, he was kept out of attack and instead we had Fakhar bowling his gentle tweakers with no threat whatsoever for the batsmen and presented them with easy runs. There was no intent to seize the initiative and hunt for victory. This is unlike Sarfraz who usually is an aggressive captain.

Can anyone on this forum explain the rationale behind keeping your best and most potent bowler out of action while have your part timers operating long before the game was over?

Even Amir was reintroduced very late when India were within 20 odd runs to victory.

Hasan was not getting any help from the conditions, was being taken to the cleaners.

Just goes to show that good bleep / fitness test results are no real advantage in Cricket.

Still a better option than Fakhar, Fahim and Malik in any scenario ... I think Sarfaraz missed a trick here.

Ali was getting thrashed and not looking effective. I recon he was the most expensive bowler.

Game would have been over 5 overs early. He didn't bowl according to the pitch.

In recent past our pacers are unable to bowl at the right length. Hasan was the only one in recent past doing that well and that was the reason he picked wickets when other pacers didn't.

Yesterday hasan got hit so I believe that's the reason

Seems Pakistan are reserving their best for the back end of the tournament and not expose all their cards early.

The same Hasan Ali and Aamir will be spitting venom during the finals.

Fakjar was decent barring the first over. And it was a short target. If anything Shadab should have come in earlier
