Why was the Pakistan ODI squad announced before the end of the One Day Cup?

Were is the thinking from the PCB and selectors announcing the ODI squad before the end of the domestic ODI tournament?

I was under the impression selections will be made on merit and domestic performance?

Makes no sense to me whats so ever!

Was thinking the same thing, they could have waited a couple of more days. Will also be demoralizing for people who were hopeful of making the squad but didn't. Surely they could have waited a couple of days. We would have known 90% of the squad anyway eg Imad, Malik, Umar Akmal so visa wouldn't really be the issue but I feel that is the only reason it was named this early. Feel for the likes of Fakhar Zaman etc

Inzi probably drafted the squad while reading the morning papers. Must have hardly spent 10 minutes on it. The squad is pretty much the same as has been since Inzi took over. If he had to select the same squad it doesn't matter whether the domestic ODI cup is ongoing or not.

Inzi in his interviews emphasizes on continuity. He believes in giving players extended chances and not chopping, changing things on the basis of 2-3 failures.

It was another one of those pointless tournaments. The quality of bowling attacks is unbelievably poor.

However, Inzi should have replaced Rahat with Bashir or Irfan.

We didn't select the team on performance it was always decided on names, names what we have, just change the name of 1 or 2 players and remain the same.

PCB basically not giving importance to odi Cup 4,5 Quied azam trophy matches live broadcasted . Whole t20 tounarments live . Even Final of national Cup is not live any where . It give boost to players and also effect on their perfomance .


Basically Selectors selected Squad to avoid from tension . If they havenot annouced squad Guy like sehzad hitting another century it will confuse selectors . Thats why they just doing fast decsions.

Why ASAD SHAFIQ is there what he did that he is selected in ODI .
