Will AB de Villiers play at the ICC T20 World Cup in 2020?

Watching the Sky Sports coverage of the South Africa vs England T20, they were saying the people they have spoken to in South Africa are adamant AB De Villiers will play at the World T20 this year.

Do you think he will play at the World T20 and does this improve South Africa chances at the tournament? SA top 4 in today's game seems settled but 1 of them may have to make place for AB it seems.

If AB and SA team management are good to unite together for one last time, then definitely!

SA's top four has David Miller at 4 who I honestly feel is well utilized when he has to do some hitting in the final overs to take the team to as much total as possible. I would find this side more settled with ABD at 4 , Miller shifting to 5 and then the rest.

I haven't followed SA T20 as much recently, so I can't say who will be dropped but AB simply has incredible ability to not be part of this playing XI. However, if you would want me to say that his presence will ensure that SA will go on and win the WT20, then that's not happening. No player can win you any tournament single handedly. Everyone has to contribute.

South African management have already said if AB is going to play at the World T20 he will have play in bilaterals before the tournament.

Statistically speaking, AB's international stats were nothing to write home about with regards to T20Is.

The world cup isn't taking place in India from what I'm hearing, so it eliminates most reasons to even approach him and ask him to come out of retirement.

Hopefully we see him return to the PSL some time soon.

Yes his international stats in terms of T20 were nothing special and also he was one of the bigger choker in ICC tournaments for SA along with he whole team obviously.

For all his 360 exploits etc his true worth was actually in test matches for SA. He did very little in LOIs in games that matter throughout his career.
