The biggest question on every indian cricket fan’s mind.

By all accounts, 2018-19 has been a wonderful year for them.

The team showed a lot of heart on the away tours and many players have emerged as world class match winners.

Apart from India’s ODI lower middle order , everything else seems to be clicking for them just at the right time before the World Cup.

The pace attackxlooks good. The spin attack looks good.

Kohli is in a god like form and Rohit Sharma isn’t far behind.

This looks like the fittest Indian unit.

But would the IPL play the spoilsport and break this amazing momentum?

Exactly. I'm so concerned about the player fitness more than the momentum.
Kohli just took rest for 2 odis and 3 t20s to make sure he's fresh for the IPL .
Moreover the likes of Bumrah, Rohit , Jadav who are so essential to the team's chances at the WC might get injured . And the worst thing is that there's not enough time to recover. This is where the advisory committee of sachin, Laxman, Sourav should come into play.

Which momentum? The world number one sided was easily brushed aside in SA and then in England and only got a win against a seriously depleted Aus.

Can you explain that to me please.

I suggest you look up the definitions of "easily", "brushed aside", and "seriously", because clearly you used them incorrectly.

India could be in trouble if Bumrah is injured in IPL. At least he gets some rest now. Good stuff by India to manage his workload.

On the contrary, if Gill makes runs and Rayudu flops in IPL..... you never know!!!

Even with bhumrah they will win the cup.india can afford to loose 1 bowler as they still have good replacements, i don't think eng or nz can seriously challenge india in the wc.

I think the players need to be smart and rest appropriately during the IPL. There is no need for the main Indian stars to feature in all games for their franchises. World Cup is more important than the IPL which happens every year anyways.

They could get injured in warm-ups too.

Why not rest in hermetic chambers?

Dhoni is right. It's the ideal warm-up for the world Cup practicing white-ball at highest level.

The IPL should be cancelled this year.

Ideal world.

No need to cancel it but there were real world solutions to it, just have it a month early play it in mid feb and end it by march end or april 1st week, you have enough time for worldcup, what was the logic of scheduling a australia odi series right now.

what is wrong with IPL? I dont think there is anything wrong, but if BCCI moves the IPL to England and reduce the matches from 60 something to 30 something, than it will be much better. But still IPL is the thing people love to watch.
All indian fans who are on pakpassion let me remind you guys that you are still indian fans and you are just here not converted to pakistani cricket team fans yet.

Jay ho IPL ki. winning makes it more sweet. :faf

Those times are actually the best times in any year to hold the IPL - if you have to hold it. Which brainiac thought April - May would be a good idea, when the whole country is baking under the summer heat and the monsoons aren't here yet?

I'm a bonafide Indian fan and don't like the IPL. Deal with it. It has nothing to do with liking the Pakistani cricket team - who incidentally are entertaining when they want to be.

Rohit is the only one who will have burned out by the end of IPL. Everybody else will get ample rest by then. IPL infact can help with honing the death bowling and power hitting.

My only hope from IPL is Rayadu and Karthik getting injured, and let better batsmen take their places in the WC squad

IPL is a tournament made by media hungry owners, popular esp. with ordinary cricketers and liked by dumb fans!

if you true indian fan or not, i dont question your integrity. I feel sorry for you that you have to deal with IPL and can't do much about it. Deal with it.
When you found pakistani cricket team entertaining but not IPL, than there is some critical defect in your logic.

It is really rich when you categorize entiere IPL fans as Dumb. If i write anything more, than my post will be deleted.

I think the IPL could have been shifted, since that isn’t possible if I was India I would try to get the bowlers rotated and rested. Think the batter will be fine.

Got to respect the Australians who usually get IPL contracts for pulling out of this years.

The players in Indian ODI squad for WC should take good care of themselves and coaches and team management for franchises give them enough rest.

You can't cancel IPL or change the format now it's a huge business with lots of money involved people are talking like it's some gully mohalla tournament..

Players are professional and know the limits of their bodies and along with top class trainers in the franchise's they should take a stand and let the team management know when they want rest.
