There is already some rumor about Aamir, Shinwari, Abbass, and Junaid competing for two open fast bowling spots. The question is who will be the spinner in this squad? I hope they do not select Yasir again.

It might be the first time if I remember correctly that a Pakistani world cup squad will not have any specialist spinner. This may hurt Pakistan's chances as we have recently seen how effective were Kuldeep, Rashid, and Moeen in the India-England series.

Do you think Imad and Shadab are enough for spin bowling or should Inzy select another spinner in the squad?

Not a rumour Azhar confirmed it. Yes we will go in the world cup without a proper spinner.

Shadab is/was a proper spinner, mickey tried his best to ruin him. Hopefully he will fine some form during the WC with the help of Sarfraz.

Shadab /Kashif combination could have been a best spin combo in the WC but just like we killed the chance to unite Sharjeel with Fakhar in the WC we have done the same in spin dept.

Shadab and Imad are proper spinners. People were clearly expecting Ajmal-esque performances from every spinner to play for Pakistan and are suffering because of their unrealistic expectations.

Shadab and Imad are on par with the spinners of most other teams and will do a decent job for us. The pacers however, will have to be the main threats with the ball.

We r going in the world cup without

Proper openers
A solid middle order
A powerful lower middle order
A competitive and fit wicketkeeper
A strategic captain
A fearful line up of pace bowlers

Imad is not a proper spinner at all, even Haris is better in ODIs

Probably. Although I'd rather go without a proper spinner rather than having Yasir Shah in the team:facepalm:

The Best Attacks Have Balance. Pakistan should stick to a 3 and 3 situation especially since Spinners make a difference of 1 RPO.

Seems like it. Will be a huge mistake considering how bad Shadab has been recently.

IMO it is not about one spinner and his impact. It is about building a duo or trio of spinners who complement each other. The best example of this was Afridi, Ajmal, and Hafeez.

In Imad Wasim and Shadab Pakistan has two of three. They need one more.

As Bilal7 mentioned above, we have unrealistic expectations for our spinners now that they can't cheat like Ajmal and Hafeez.

Imad had been doing a good job but Shadab could cost us 1-2 games unless he turns it around.

Awful on our part though because Zafar Gohar was never given a decent run and he has looked good so far.

I agree. The integration of spinners has been very poor. I would add Kamran Ghulam's name to that conversation. He's a left arm spinner who averages 41 in First Class Cricket.

I'd rather play with our 4 fast bowlers than have a spinner like Yasir on inexperienced Umer. England pitches Inshallah our fast bowling should do the job. Plus we have Shadab and Imad and they did decent in the CT17.

Imad and Hafeez are both containing spinners and they will keep the runs down with max 1-2 wickets in an innings. Shadab is supposed to be wicket taking but the only thing he takes these days is a phainti.

Mickey's liking for playing spin alrounders rather than proper spinners will hurt us.

So, it's settled. Inzy did not select a specialist spinner despite getting a second chance.

I think India has done it right by selecting three spinners in their squad. On flat tracks, all fast bowlers will go for plenty.
