What's new

Will PCB give NOCs for the Bangladesh Premier League?

Shouldn't. The minnows need to be put in their place.

They must. Good opportunity for cricketers to earn some money, get experience of playing in foreign conditions, in televised matches and with international stars.

Other than that, its time we improve relations with BD.

PCB can't afford to break ties with two Asian members at one time.

Not only should they give NOC for BPL but also arrange a series with Bangladesh in UAE in the long free time that they have.

2nd tier players should be given nocs, Likes of Bilawal Bhatti, Anwar Ali and Ahmed Shehad etc.

Amir Sarfaraz Shadab JK Afridi have already signed up to play the BPL.

It would be travesty if you deprived them to earn money and play in a competitive league.

Already big names like Watson Sanga Narine Lynn West Indian folks are playing. It's a good opportunity.

BCB unlike PCB believes in being on good terms with other cricket boards. I have never seen BCB in an issue with any other cricket board apart from PCB. It is a good reason why Bangladesh cricket overall has had an upward curve.

Only if they tour Pakistan.

If BCB can give NOC to their players to play in Afghanistan then they can come to Pakistan.

If not then no NOCs.

BCB have given NOC for BD players to play in PSL final. Same for the Afghanistan cricket league.

many bangladeshi supporters support pakistani team and have good will relations, i dont understand why PCB is behaving like a monkey.

on the other hand where PCB gets humiliation that is from BCCI, it keeps coming running for favours to induct its players in IPL or play bilateral series

this is pathetic beyond belief

They should play their cards right, Pakistani players are a huge commodity after the Champions Trophy win, they should be used as valuable bargaining chips in getting something worthy back from the BCB.

Last year, Inzamam said that they would not send their players to BPL if the domestic season is going on.

Yes they should. No point in escalating tensions. Just brief the players well to stay away from bookies because these leagues have a massive problem of bookies approaching players frequently and freely.

They Shouldn't at ALL

The condition should be you either come to Pakistan or we only send Tier 2 cricketers !!

We can easily pay our lot the chump change that's handed out by this mediocre league which apparently for the first two seasons couldn't even pay the players properly....LOL

No they shouldnt. Our players dont need to play in BPL. Unless Bangladesh Apologise and the series is on in PK

I think they should send their players in a good faith and see if BD respond positively, and if not then PCB has every right to take such an action. There is always a next year.

I think they should Definetely, whenever pakistan plays in BD they get great crowd support obviously except when they team the home team. They are our brothers and have showed tremendous support to us so we should definetely go. India doesn't come to play here as well and on top of it doesn't want any kind of bilateral series but PCP keeps running after them, so what kind of hypocrisy is that. If the players havesigned with BPL then they should be given NOC to keep their commitments and improve relations between the boards. People on forum should stop BD team down they play good cricket and how would we feel if we go to lets say a New zeland forum and see them putting our country down. BD is my second favourite team after pakistan just because i remember their crowd always being very supportive of Pakistan when they are playing against anyone else except the BD team.

Ideally, PCB shouldn't provide NOC to the central contracted players, who need rest & BPL will be played same time during PAK domestic season - players should focus more on domestic FC cricket than T20s. Also, now PSL is running with 6 teams, therefore from pure commercial perspective, I would have preserved top PAK players only for PSL.

But, if it's conditional to BD touring PAK, then good luck - let's see how long PCB can stand their ground. Last time, almost entire PAK team was wiped out by a private League ICL & players were ready to sacrifice their International & domestic career for 2 months fixed cricket - hope common sense prevails this time.

Already, players are going to enjoy 4 months break - which is fine, for once in 2/3 years, specially after winning an ICC event; but if it becomes annual event (4 months rest out of 12), then it's a problem - rest is good, but players need to earn as well from their prime 10-12 years; PCB's central contract doesn't pay monthly enough to cover the match fee & endorsement share of 1 ODI, apart from the Cat A players, may be.

What will the pitches in BPL be like this time around? They were dull and low scoring last time.

One main thing nobody has pointed is that Global T20 League (SA T20 Competition) is being held at almost the same time. So I highly doubt that Pakistani players would prefer BPL over Global T20 with two PSL owners in that league as well. :inti

England is not touring pakistan yet you give NOC to play in england. Hypocrates.

You dont apologize for not feeling safe enough...keep playing with Zim in Pak. Dont forget to give some extra cash for risking their life like last time.

Centrally contracted players shouldnt go.

third tier players are fine

Why are you getting all worked up about ???

Pakistan is not obliged at all to send any players to BPL.....

And quite frankly what will we even gain other than diluting our brand in sending our champions to such a sub standard tournament. As far as monetary benefits go, I am pretty sure we can pay our tier 1 the same amount of what BPL is offering without any issues whatsoever.

If you really want Pakistani players that badly, then tier 3 (the likes of Anwar, Sami, Jamshed et al) should do just fine.

Tier 1 and Emerging should be out of the question and PSL owners themselves would never want their best draft picks to be playing ever mundane tournament whatsoever....

BPL my end being a big fail considering it is going to rival the lucrative South African League. Moreover expect good Pakistani presence over there now that 2 owners are from Pak.

What good relations? BCB spat in PCBs face by refusing to tour Pak but then allowing their players to go Afghanistan of all places.

Pakistan has toured BD enough and this is a one way relationship.

Time to make BPL crash and burn to make them realise.

They should and the ties should resume without the stupid condition of bangladeshi players must risk their lives and play in pakistan.

How is SA league going to be lucrative?

International in SA matches are barely sold out and the time zone difference with SC would mean a major issue as far tv ratings are concerned

A league like BPL pays international players nearly the same as BBL.

Once again. BCB gave permission to BD players to play in Pakistan and Afghanistan. No hypocrisy there. Didn't Anamul Haq go to Pakistan?

Wickets at 3 major venues (Mirpur, Fatullah & Chittagong) are relaid recently, therefore I do believe that wickets will be better from last year. It takes few years for a new wicket to settle into a batting paradise. Having said that, rainy season continues till October & as long as BPL is played in November- December period, wickets won't be that batting friendly compared to later half of the season. Our internationals also are low scoring at the start & gradually by March it becomes run feast.

They should not. Minnows tried to act tough and didn't send their team. It is a boring league anyways.

How is Global T20 not going to be lucrative?

The players you are listing Narine, watson, lynn all are signed by GT20 so i dnt know how will they end up in BPL

Barely sold out? I guess you haven't watched an International match in SA yet
And for your Information Time zone are perfectly fine i am sure you are mistaken or mixing west indies timezone to SA

BPL will be held in October

And yes I watch enough international cricket in SA including tests. In Kallis's farewell match there was fewer spectators throughout the test than the number of people in a desi wedding of a small family.

Remember this. It's a domestic tournament.

Are the 2 leagues clashing time wise?

I am torn, we have great support among the average BD fan so I would not deprive them to see our players. But their board I dislike immensely.

Pakistani players should play. PCB has a stupid condition, Pakistan is relatively safe now but more time needs to be given for confidence building measures. Plus, BPL will give good exposure to players and $.

pak board always sport other. when he want to similar respons every one hiding behind ind board or his own benifit. how care about other?
when pak cancel the tower(wrong or right) you see how respons bd cricket. instead makes thing better. they show " lumbi lumbi berkee".
i cant understand how pcb are blamed or pcb arestupid? what a expert here?
yes i had bd friends? they are good but this another senario..........
also pak will not think about this " not permission for bd leiggg"

Because BCB is comparatively diplomatic.

You can accuse BCB of being lethargic, unsmart but BCB doesn't get involved in scuffles

you can sport your side, its not strange for me at least.
but better thing is that both board have some thing positive
like or dislike or being related to one country doest mean bad or rhight is equal"

Why none top teams willing to come to your country? Why behind minnow countries? Their life has less value than other countries or what? Pakistan has visited all cou tries and none coubtry visited them. Why should bangladesh then?

We need to be fair brother. That is security issue and not a PSL salary issue.

i didnt know tht, why has BCB problem touring pak but has toured afghanistan of all places

seems its political and not security issue, BCB being misused by india to be honest

pakistan played a key role for bangladesh to get test status i guess you forgot that

you guys have no problem touring afghanistan, but you have problem touring pakistan? why?

seems like BCB has become an indian political pawn

Who told you BD touring afghanistan? We have problem touring pakistan like rest top 7 country has problem with pakistan i.e. security issue. We wannna play in UAR or somewhereelse.

Should build bridges rather than burning them. Besides Pakistanis are the main attraction at BPL, it will give some of our younger players a good opportunity to develop.

could not agree more

We cant afford to have no ties with 3 cricketing boards

if PCB wants to send strong message to BCB than they should not give NOc to one single cricketer and

if PCB willing to give NOC to players than they should also play a series with them in ban

I'm certain that Global T20 will be more lucrative for the players, so the players themselves will look to play in it, (instead of the BPL.) They have only signed up, to keep their options open.

PCB should give Bangladesh a false sense of hope by insinuating that they will give the NOC's, but remove it in the last moment so that the BCB loses the great attraction that are the Pakistani players. This will make the ratings plunge, and fans to lose interest. Lets take these boys down a peg or two.

You can only accomodate someone for so long, eventually you have to take a stand to prevent someone else from using you. The PCB has done everything to support Bangladesh Cricket in terms of supporting their test status, providing NOC's for their T-20 leagues, agreeing to tour Bangladesh and forgoing their own right to host, supporting their BCB president's canditure for ICC chairman and in return they refuse to support us, honor their agreements with us in our time of need.

Time to send the message across to these back stabbing Asian boards that we can survive without them.

In fact what the PCB needs to do is to look to build bridges with the ECB, Cricket Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ireland and co.

Yes Bangladesh should have toured us, but the pcb didn't help by giving dumb excuses like it would not be financially viable to host them in UAE, when we did the same with the windies who don't have a big diaspaora there.

Not going to Bangladesh reduces an already light 12 months for Pakistan.

Some naive people here still going on about pak home tour. It's just isn't going to happen.

Our first team players who are centrally contracted should not be let go, T20s in leagues for Pakistani players (that isn't the PSL) are filler matches to make some extra money lets be honest and we need them to rest and concentrate on the domestic season..

Sports and art is always greater than politics. I despise the BCB but the truth is, Pakistan needs to improve it's relations with Bangladesh. We cannot afford not playing with 3 countries.

It doesn't work that way. This has to be done tactfully so that in current world you don't make anyone enemy.

What I understand is, it's just about 5/6 players - Amir, Hasan, JK & may be Raees for their work load; Shadab to protect his leg spin mystery & may be Sarfraz to relive him from what had been triple load on him. May be we can add Babar as well. There are few LO specialists who'll benefit from BPL as well & allowing MoHa, Malik, Wahab actually benifficiary to PAK cricket - so that, they might decide to call it a day for PAK cap. No T20 franchise would race for Azhar's signature.

So, all in all max 7 names. What PCB should do is to give NOC to everyone & individually tell these 6/7 players to withdraw their names - so that, every angle is covered. I am sure, BCB will do the same thing, if there is an Afghan cup - protect 2/3 pacers & may be Mushi for his work load. Don't ever think that all these Starc & Anderson & Berbi & ...... are resting from IPL from the love of their ... you know.

There is below the line intelligence which helps you achieve your target, without twisting someone's tail. But, obviously, that doesn't win you much in front of media.

Didn't even think about that if I'm being honest. You're definitely onto something here, PCB must be a bit more sneaky when it comes to this, no need to make matters worse with other boards by making it obvious that some of the players shouldn't be playing so they can have a manageable workload.

I guess it could help with some players like the ones you mentioned. Someone like Imad could also find it beneficial actually, he could possibly try to use this as an opportunity to find some form with the bat and make his bowling somewhat less predictable.

Imad for me is a bit of a fringe player because even though he is selected a lot, sometimes I struggle to see what his role is in the team and what he actually brings.

they can play in UAE or in any neutral venue.

BD is ready to be hosted by pakistan. Where is pakistan hosting? In UAE for all the countries. Why its different for BD and wanna host them in pakistan when none other top nation us ready to go? Bangladesh isnt guniepig.

One has to pick their battle wisely and also show some common sense

Yes Bangladesh should have toured us, but the pcb didn't help by giving dumb excuses like it would not be financially viable to host them in UAE, when we did the same with the windies who don't have a big diaspaora there.

Not going to Bangladesh reduces an already light 12 months for Pakistan.

The PCB has more or less been paying out of pocket by playing their matches in the UAE. They are now trying to move on and cmon hosting a minnow like Bangladesh of all nations in the UAE, forget it, not financially viable. The minnows either play us at home or not at all.

The PCB should build bridges with the major nations, not minnows like Bangladesh.

I don't find it appropriate to force others nations into touring Pakistan. Blackmailing them into touring is even worse.

First and foremost we should concentrate on improving the security threats in Pakistan. A lot of improvements have been made in recent time but I am still not convinced and feel like it's just a false dawn.

At the same time PCB could send out friendly invitations to others asking them to tour Pakistan and provide them with detailed informations on how secure and risk free the tour will be. If the invitation is rejected then we should accept the decision respectfully and keep on working on our flaws. We have been waiting for 8 years if they are still not convinced yet we should show patience and wait 2-3 more years. In the meantime we can keep on improving the security arrangements. If we try to rush it then the other nations might get annoyed by us and that's not something we should take lightly.

Good relations with others should have a higher priority than a tour.

I get a bad feeling in my mouth every time the topic of foreign teams visiting Pakistan is brought up by the journalists in the press conference involving players. The player is then put on the spot and has to answer such difficult questions. A journalist asked sarfraz a question regarding this in the post final press conference and I really thought it was not the right thing to do. It's not such a trivial matter. It is about one's life.

A world XI tour is planned for later this year, let's hope that it goes well. We should take it one step at a time. If full teams aren't willing to come we could invite all those who are willing and hold a charity match or other small tournament. This would then serve as good examples to show to the world.

We can't be bitter and get into to meaningless fights. I won't mind if the players are allowed to play in BPL. If there is an issue too much workload and players are better of resting then that's an other issue. Otherwise I don't see any harm in it. In fact it might be seen as positive. With Bangladeshi public appreciating the participation of our players and overtime might be open to the idea of their team touring Pakistan.

To take something it's best to give something first.

Be firm and not give NOCs. They are giving nothing back. Just take take take with these lot. You had your 3 home tours with Pakistan already. Enough of this.

How can you allow players to go in the middle of domestic season. Aren't they contracted to domestic teams? Letting them go Emma's, You basically devalue your own structure. Plus BPL is a magnate for bookies .... no Pakistani player should be playing in that league.

It's more viable then hosting the Windies which we were prepared to do

PCB and BCB have some issues between them but players and cricket should not be paying the price for that and PCB should allow them to play.

Amir is signed by Essex and Junaid Khan is signed by Leicestershire so I highly doubt that they will be available.

Be firm and not give NOCs. They are giving nothing back. Just take take take with these lot. You had your 3 home tours with Pakistan already. Enough of this.

Agreed. They are already earning enough by playing in PSL and other leagues like CPL, county contracts and now SA global T20 league.
