Seemingly easy - just 122 runs to get - but we all know what the India bowling attack is capable of.

So quick poll to see what people feel - remember to vote with your head and not your heart :)

60-40 in favour of India, 122 is alot of runs on that track with South Africa definitely a batsman short.

I don't see SA chasing this down.

It's just a matter of a couple of wickets and South African batting will fall like a house of cards.

Under 100 to win with 5 wickets in hand

I would back SA to get the runs

SA to choke as usual. India to win by 82 runs. Rabada announces test retirement after match.

I dont think so one wicket brings.two.or 3 on this pitch. But i cant understand how the umpire gave peterson out and he didnt even review it i thought was missing leg.

India will win by 40 runs, SA wont make more than 200 runs. once 1 wicket falls they will crumble to defeat.

Yes,

SA is in a strong position and One of the bowlers from India is not fully fit.

Dont underestimate the ability of SA to choke from best of positions. They will choke again!

Ind to win- history shows that SA Will lose early wickets an and don't have the quality at 8 and 9 to win.

so you think SA will only get 40 odd runs and lose 8 wickets?

SA should win by 4 wickets

In almost every test match, the team that’s batting always loses a wicket at the start of the day.

I expect India to pick up 2 wickets in the first 10 overs. By then, SA will require 100 odd with 6 wickets in hand. 2-3 more wickets and you’re into the tail.

Delicately balanced.

SA keep showing fight in this series and unearthing talent.

Elgar is a classic "ugly runs" style of SA opener. I think he's the key. If he goes early then it's going to be Bavuma finally silencing the doubters or no way home for SA.

If Elgar hangs around for a session, then it's SA's to win.

India have a top drawer bowling attack. Probably the best balanced travelling attack since the great Oz sides- it won't be easy.

Yes, India does have the best-balanced traveling attack, but one of the pacers is not fully fit. He hardly bowled today. With everyone available with the full intensity it becomes relentless, but here I think SA has a very good chance. Just need to hang in there.

SA is showing a lot more fight than most expected. It is a good sign for the future.

Everything is pointing to SA win.

Heavy roller makes pitch literally dead as dodo for the 1st hour, like on Day 3 - Pujara-Rahane added runs at 5 rpo. If SA even add 50-60 for loss of 1 wicket, game is over. After that, their tail is good enough to get the rest.

Our best shot was to get them 4-5 down today, but SA batted well and our bowlers just seemed too eager and gave away few easy runs.

Indian bowlers strength has been their discipline, but they didn't show any in 2nd innings. SA should've been 80/2 at worst, but we let them get some easy runs in search of wickets. That will prove costly tomorrow.

Thakur vs Elgar is the most key battle. SA will collapse.

If he does then it has to be most dominating performance by a test cricketer in a test since Botham in Headingley against England.

Botham did something similar against us at Bombay too.

With heavy roller effect, morning session will be easy to score some runs. With only 122 runs to win and 8 wickets in hand, I'm backing South Africa to win.
70:30 in favour of RSA.

Yeah I believe SA will be able to chase this...

They would have gone into the dressing room and decide to play this very slowly and only take easy runs..

Congrats Pant and Vihari on your 2 wonderfully crafted innings to put Indians in this position..

Onto the next match noww.

It’s a carbon copy of South Africa’s first Test back after Apartheid, away to the world champion West Indies in Barbados in 1991-92.

Today South Africa start at 118-2 chasing 240.

That day they started at 122-2 chasing 201.

The West Indies were unbeaten since a dodgily umpired series in New Zealand in 1980-81, where they lost 1-0 by losing a Test by 1 wicket.

But South Africa had been the world’s greatest team when they were thrown out of international cricket 21 years earlier.

South Africa opened the day at 122-2.

Ninety minutes later they were 148 all out, and the West Indies kept their crown for another 4 years.

Yes definitely. They’ve got a great chance. Should be an exciting finish either way.

I would say it is probably 55-45 in favour of South Africa at the moment. Slight edge but actually the game is delicately poised.

1. 118 for 2 chasing 240 sounds comfortable on paper but the classic 'add 10 runs and 2 wickets formula' and it becomes 128 for 4 - suddenly a different game. Throughout this test wickets have fallen in clusters, so this can happen.

2. South Africa might choke.

3. There is a reason the 4th innings of a test match is a rarity for teams to score upwards of 250.

I think the first 30-45 minutes after play restarts will be key. If South Africa can get through 8 overs or so, get the target to below 100 and still be 2 down, the pressure will lift and the choke may be less likely. However I fear if India get an early wicket, we could see them falling like dominos.

Once target comes into double figures, the mental side of things favours SA

SA tail starts at 6 and mentally apart from elgar this batting line up is weak and in some cases inexperienced.

Conditions definitely went against India with ball getting wet but boy did they absolutely bottle it in first hour. I think after a long time I saw Indian bowlers just bowling bad, they were too eager and gave 40-50 runs in first 10 overs. That there was the game gone.

I hope Kohli comes back for next test because you can see KL is out of his depth. Got to give credit to SA though, they didn't let history cloud their minds and went about it in a very professional manner. 1-1 it is, exciting build up for 3rd test.

Indians will not get a better opportunity to win a test series in South Africa

What a chase this from SA! Chasing a decent 4th inngs total on any pitch, against any attack is a challenge in this day n age! And they did it easily.

They aren't chokers no more!
