Pace is never an issue for them, T20 cricket and Money is however.

Cricket is dying in the Windies. Kids opt for other sports there.

The only sustainable format there is the T20 format. You don't need to be a proper fast bowler to take wickets there. Also less pace means less strain on the body prolonging your T20 career leading to more dollars.

When we beat them by ten wickets in 2011 I'm not sure west indies were even in the top 9 teams on the world

With the likes of Andre Russell they have a successor to fidel and best

They are not dedicated enough, they still have that pace and by talent but sadly there is a lack of role models in this team.
The current west indies attack is nowhere near that of 80s but they are still very good and quite underrated.

Roach is a terrific bowler, probably the most underrated bowler. He avgs 27 in tests and has given many match winning performances in windies.
Shannon gabriel-yet another good bowler who consistently bowls in the 140s.
Jason holder-line and length bowler who generates lift due to his height.
Oshane thomas and cottrell are young talents.

This west indian pace attack has a terrific record in windies, i remember they avgd in low 20s for a duration of 2years in the windies before india toured.
In 2019 test series They destroyed england in one test where england collapsed below 100 runs.

Its not easy to play against this new windies attack especially in west indies, pakistan will surely have problems if they tour windies in near future.

A Russell, Cottrell, Holder, Gabriel, Roach would make a fantastic attack.

We played against them in 2017 and won 2-1, and their team was similiar then to what it is now.

I think they've got a good pace attack now, albeit obviously not on the same level as the 70s and 80s. Kemar Roach and Jason Holder are accurate and can swing the ball, and you've the raw pace of Oshane Thomas and Shannon Gabriel.

The problem is the lack of a quality spinner which is a big reason why they continue to struggle in limited overs cricket.

But is your current team similar to what it was in 17?
MisYou and a peak azhar were part of that team and even yasir was in top form.
Secondly their best bowler roach didn't play in that series

No, the 80s was just freakish in the history of cricket. Just look at the guys that hardly got a look in the 80s. Franklyn Stephenson bowled at 88-90mph and would have been a great 7 or 8, Tony Merryick was on par in terms of pace and quality with Allan Donald at Warwickshire in the mid 80s, Sylvester Clarke terrorised batsman in county cricket but only played around 10 tests, Wayne Daniel was an excellent bowler and hardly played for the Windies, Rodney Estwick was an exceptional talent but didnt see any window into the Windies team and took the money and ran to SA on the rebel tours, Ezra Mosley was built like bull and came back into the Windies team at the end of his career( banned after the rebel tours to SA) and broke Greame Gooches finger at Queens Park and won the Series for the Windies because he knocked out Englands Captain and best bat and there will be many more that we have never even heard about.

A Russell, Cottrell, Holder, Gabriel, Roach would make a fantastic attack.

That's a handy attack but not a single great among them. I wouldn't say fantastic. I'd rank it behind India, Oz, England, NZ.

SA can field attacks probably it's equal, even with all their losses.

That makes it a fairly middling attack really.

Of them all perhaps Roach has only ever held a top 10 spot on the fast bowlers rankings.

Unlikely.

It is because of T20 leagues. They are likely to prioritize these cheap leagues over national duties.
