"What happened in Lord's is past now and we are looking forward to the Leed's match now"

"Everybody knows that England are a good side, infact one of the best, and they weill come hard at us but we are ready for the challenge"

When asked does he sense a weakness in the England side, laughs "I don't want to say anything like that; they are a very good side but we are doing [our preparations] and lets see what happens"

"My length in the past few games was very short and I had been workiong with Azhar Mahmood to fix that and pitch it further"

"Because when the ball is swinging, you only get wickets from further down [in terms of pitching the ball]"

"When you are tired, then its a little difficult to push the length up a bit"

"But as a professional, you need to be aware of demands of all formats of cricket"

"Just because I bowled a bit better in one or 2 games doesn't mean I have fixed the issue and I am still working to make things better"

"When you win the atmosphere in the dressing room automatically improves"

"The best thing is that our management has kept the players very relaxed and they do enjoy themselves"

"We may be enjoying ourselves now but the real enjoyment will come when we win the series"

"The best wicket I took in the Lord's Test was Jonny Bairstow's one"

"It was a delivery that I would like to bowl to right-handers"

"My personality is such that whatever has happened has happened" [in reply to his last performance at Leeds where he took 8 (7) wickets

"Its a different team and different cricket and system now as compared to 8 years ago"

"The Lord's victory will give us motivation as we walk onto the field in the 2nd Test but our aim is to do better than what we did at Lord's"

"The management have told us not to relax but to enjoy the Lord's victory and our attiude and confidence should be double to what it was in the previous game"

"The credit goes to all bowlers like M Abbas, Hasan Ali, Faheem; Also the credit goes to Azahr Mahmood who is telling us to pitch the ball up"

"That [pitch the ball up] was the main difference at Lord's and we will be looking to do the same here [Leeds]"

"That was a good wicket [Bairstow] as I feel that was the match-turning wicket"

"The ball was reversing a bit at that time and I was trying to pitch the ball up"

"Tests are tough games to win so to win against one of the top teams of the world in England at the home of cricket was a big achievement"

"[Winning the Test series] will be the best memory of my life"

"The PCB took a good step to use the Dukes ball in domestic cricket"

"Even our training camp was done using the Dukes ball as it is always helpful to use the ball that will be used in the series"

That's the attitude to have my boy.

What a nice interview, don't remember last time a Pakistani cricketer other than Mibah(not a star though) giving such an interview.

How long will it take him to fix his issues? He has been playing non-stop cricket since 2015 and is already complaining about workload.

Maybe he should admit and we should admit and realize that he is not as good as people thought he was.

IDK we should ask Cook, Malan and Bairstow how good he is. They didn't seem to have an answer.

People like you want him to take a 10fer every match.

I will be happy with a total of 5-6 wickets every 2nd game. Sadly his 2-3 wickets per game are few and far in between.

I will rate him when he does something of note in the UAE or flat pitches.

He picked by 5 wickets in the Lord's test and 5 wickets in the Ireland test.

So two consecutive test matches where he had 5 wickets each. What more do you want?

I remember last time in 1996 we win the series can Pakistan do it again it’s will be great

Should keep using it in domestic cricket and for UAE series.

West Indies use a version of the Dukes and they have dry pitches.

Interesting as Amir was part of teams which won world t20 and CT. So he is rating win over England in England above those 2 wins.

Amir is once in a generation bowler.

It is completely unfathomable to me to why people hate him!!

Amir should only be used for overseas Test series and LOI's.

He should rest for the NZ in UAE series and be fresh for the SA series in December.

Am sensing at least one upset victory. :amir

Hello Mr Amir? May I remind you, you won the T20 World Cup in 2009, you won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 and you drew a 4-match test series against England in 2016. Not to forget a personal favourite moment, such as making your debut or making your comeback after your 5 year ban.

On about best memory of his life. What an exaggeration.

Lol it's his life, Shouldn't he get to decide what his best memory is?

How is it an exaggeration? An overseas test series victory in England/SA/Aus is huge. Nevermind considering how unlikely it was with this squad of players before the series began. Would be a better achievement than the World T20 win and the 2-2 draw in 2016 imo.

You don't need to be Einstein to work that out! Although hates' probably too strong a word here.

Not in a 2 match series.

Sensible words from Amir. Also shows how highly he rates test cricket judging by these comments. Don't see him retiring from tests.

We always struggle to do well in the decider. I have a feeling that England will level the series up:warner

"My length in the past few games was very short and I had been working with Azhar Mahmood to fix that and pitch it further"

This is the key sentence. Amir has been bowling a bit "scared" since his comeback. Yes, if you pitch it up you can sometimes get hit for runs, but it's what you have to do as a strike bowler. Sometimes he has these performances where he takes 1 wicket and doesn't give many runs away. Fans sometimes are okay with it thinking he's still improving - but the truth is that the lack of aggressiveness has cost him. Hopefully he'll continue to get his "aggression" back - on the field that is -- by pitching it up!

Whitewashing England in England would surely be right up there if not better if we can accomplish this

He should cut down on ODIs after 2019 WC

I don't mind the rotation policy even in tests Amir,Abbas,Hassan,Junaid,Wahab,Shaheen,Shanwari,Faheem all should be available for selection it will allow us to lengthen the careers of our pacers and also the retirement of one or two will not impact as much if the new bowlers are continuously getting chances.

Quotes of Mohammad Amir from a Sky Sports interview (Although Wasim Akram made the interview very hard to follow with his not so great translating and also bringing himself into it):

"First innings matters a lot, if we held the catch of Buttler yesterday, we could have restricted the lead to less than 100"

"I feel better bowling from the other end as when bowling uphill you lose rhythm and momentum"

"I played T20's mainly after my comeback and in shorter format you don't have to worry about release point, I've been working on it in Tests as I played Tests a year after my comeback"

"I use the crease to deceive the batsman, when you go wide the batsman thinks it will be inswinger"

"When you do long spells, you feel like you're coming in rhythm, pace increases and I try to pitch it up"

"It's Test cricket, anything can happen, we have a lot of hard work to do but it's happened before when a team gets a lead but still loses. We are positive, if we get a big score we can win as in 4th innings the pitch might turn and the ball may keep low"

A test series win is now looking unlikely so he better hang on to those other memories for a bit longer.
