World Cup 2019 - Speed Watch

That 160 kph from starc was an anomaly so probably a speed gun error he’s not in the same bracket as Akhter, lee or tait pace wise

Quite simply not true.

Over a long career, a bowlers speed varies over years & niggles. For much of Akhtars career & Lee too I saw long periods, series- where they could barely break 145k.

Starc in his quickest years was 155+ & could heat up every ball but he's also struggled for rhythm & bowled through pain at other times. This WC I doubt we'll see him over 150 very often but last WC he was easily over 150 regularly.

Starc has never been 155+. He's been around 150 consistently for his career though. That ball was an anomaly but it doesn't have to be a speed gun error. He had the wind behind him that match and he was in a heated spell consistently bowling 150-153. It's possible for the action to click perfectly with maximum effort for one ball and the wind picking up speed.

I agree it just clicked. He's always had that very rapid one in him when it all comes.

Not super quick from Windies in their game vs India

I thought Oshane Thomas was ment to be a real speedster?

Also Archer's pace has decreased in this tournament, against Aussie he was only in the late 130's, so he probably cant play Tests.

Wood has done a great job to increase his pace. He must train hard

Show me one spell even in T20 where starc was consistently hovering around 155-160 kph even for 1 or 2 overs? I have seen only Akhtar lee and tait bowl these speeds

Starc has peak speed b/w 150-155 kph that ball was an anomaly

Starc 154.3kph. He bowled a lot of balls above 152kph, he is easily the fastest bowler in the world, but what I like about him is in Tests after bowling 20+ overs he can still bowl 150kph..... who else can do that? not even Lee and Shoab could after that many overs.....

The only bowler who has bowled marginally at express pace is Mitchell Starc.

The bowler who has bowled ball of the tournament uptil now is Mitchell Starc. (Yorker to Stokes)

The guy who could win another WC for Australia (Mitchell Starc) if he stays fit.

Average speed is what counts. If a bowler has an average of 145 then he will be difficult to handle unless he gets his line and length completely wrong. Some 135 bowler can bowl a few deliveries around 145 when they make big effort.
