Ever since 1999 and that infamous final at Lords, we've come up short in the 50 over world cups despite of the team raising its game for the big occasion in 2011 & 2019. How do you compare these exits?

World Cup 2003
bunch of over the hill stars grouped together only 2 months before the WC. We had our moments here and there but beaten all ends up against AUS, ENG & IND. Group exit

World Cup 2007
Our worst world cup performance ever, first team to be eliminated and then Bob Woolmer demise, disastrous campaign.

World Cup 2011
We had Younus, Asad & Misbah in our middle order yet thanks to our superlative bowling performances, we managed to top the group. Win against Australia was the highlight but our batting continued to struggle and cracks were exposed in the semi-final against India.

World Cup 2015
For a Pakistani, that world cup will be remembered for how Younus Khan blackmailed and forced himself into the team and how Waqar & Misbah kept Sarfraz out of the team despite of our consistent batting failures. Another disappointing campaign but a good win against SA.

World Cup 2019
Much similar to previous campaigns, we came with no preparation and finalized on our best XI after 5th game of the tournament. Too late but it had many more memorable moments than previous editions. Babar's record runs scored, return of Amir & Wahab, great comebacks from Haris & Shaheen and a timely century from Imam.

Personally, I've enjoyed this edition more than previous 4 editions. Thoughts?

Definitely, there were more games for Pakistan in this World Cup than other World Cups which made it a little bit better.

For slow starters this format is perfect for Pakistan

Again, we did better than anyone would have thought since even this World Cup had selection blunders but the team did well to perform despite all of those short comings.

Had they beaten india they would have got a heroes welcome. Any wrld cup with a ind loss is a flop.. indians probably got it framed on there walls now 0-20 or whatever it is.

2023 WC will most likely also have this format so that bodes well for Pakistan. Hopefully, they'll the keep the NRR in check in that tournament :sarf

Will India allow Pakistan to enter India? :))

Jokes apart, I like this format.

It is quite entertaining to be honest.
