I know Narendra Modi is vilified here like there is no tomorrow. Rahul Gandhi is dumb & has maybe double digit IQ. Lalu, Mulayam & Mayawati are corrupt. Kejriwal is a hypocrite who only loves theatrics. But can anyone top Mamta Banerjee. The oppression and brutal use of machinery against her own people (Bengalis) and legal migrants (Biharis & other hindi mainland people) is appalling. The way she is harassing and torturing innocent junior doctors is disgusting to the core. Has her love for illegal bangladeshi & Rohingya migrants for votebank surpassed morality ?

I am ashamed to even call her an Indian. President rule is the only way forward for Bengal. Junior doctors are assaulted and now threatend with registration cancellation when they demanded security? Can fellow Indian PPers (from West Bengal) shed some more light on this as our usual crony left media is not giving further details about this story.

I avoided older generation leaders, but you are spot on. PVNR was a visionary. IK Gujral should have been trialed as traitor. Morarji Desai was another pisspoor leader.

I will tell you a funny story bro. Shashi Tharoor came to my college twice (Undergrad & Post grad) as chief guest. He gave the exact same speech both times and refused to take questions from students.
I have also heard that speech somewhere on youtube (not yo be confused with his famous speech on colonialism). Hence, it is clear all his intelligence and intellectual quotient is hogwash. All he has is accent and fluency which he likes to flaunt.

Secondly, he is alleged murderer of his wife Sunanda.

Thirdly, he is a psychophant. The way he adores dumbwit like Rahul gandhi shows he is spineless leader. Case closed.

I would say VP.Singh. He destroyed merit with one whip for petty votes.

Education is something that should never be messed with.
 
The worst political leader by far ever in Indian politics is Ganja Amit Shah. He is pushing India in the direction of civil war. He has divided India based on religious and caste lines. He has breached the integrity of Defence forces, RBI, Election commission, Supreme court. Last but not least has blood of innocent people on his hands.

Mamta is a terrible leader no doubt but we hardly have any good ones, Nitish, Shivraj , Patnaik seem only decent ones..

Currently its Mamta Banerjee. To overtake even Lalu Prasad Yadav is an achievement. West Bengal might get presidential rule soon.

Our hostel have been set on fire yesterday by miscreants.Striking Doctors have been attacked again. Lady doctors allegedly threatened with rape.

West Bengal's political culture was originally ruined by the Communists who went along with the idea that "power flows from the barrel of the gun". CPM unleashed a wave of killing of political opponents, which fringe communist Naxal groups pretty much made killing opponents or "liquidating the enemy of the people" their standard operating procedure.

Most of Bengal's educated middle class elite have left (nearly all my relatives), the Communists did a pretty good job destroying industry too.

Mamata is a product of this environment. She is basically a thug who has no scruples when it comes to hanging on to power. I can't say whether she is worse than Laloo or Mayawati, but I will she is about as bad as I can imagine. Zero understanding of economics to go with her dictatorial behavior. Jayalalitha was also a dictator, but she at least understood what is needed for economic development and made it happen. Mamata is the worst of all worlds.

It just breaks my heart. Kolkata is my favorite city to visit. People use to say that goondaraj will go away in Bengal after CPI(M) goes down. Unforfunately Mamta has kicked it to another level. In my younger days i had to cancel train tickets from Delhi because CPI(M) use to shut down whole city at whim. But that never deter me from visiting Kolkata later. But the present condition is making me take a pause to visiting. Hopefully next year i'll get the chance to return to Park Street area.
 
Mamata’s government are quick to arrest people who mock or criticise her on social media yet when it comes to the perpetrators of violence against young doctors the state sits on its hands for hours/days.

India has a smorgasbord of bad politicians to choose from. That said Mamta is one of the worst for sure. Now that she's losing her mass appeal she is turning to the oldest trick in the book - languagism and Bengali pride.

The effect his caste based politics are still being felt today. Leader like Mulayam Singh and Lalu Prasad rise because of him. Regarding scams. He came on power on the promise of solving Bofors, Fairfax etc. But left it on side as soon as he got the power.

The worst one by far is Mamta B. She is actually a risk to national security.
For the good ones - I think Gadkari is doing good work in infra. So was Sushma.
 
L.K Advani the founding father of BJP. His Ram Rath Yatra brought the entire region (India, Bangladesh & Pakistan) on the verge of never ending religion based civil wars, thanks for some sane minds in these countries at the time they ended it just on time. No wonder, even BJB silently retired him.
tbh Both countries have been extremely unlucky on choice of leaders. Pakistanis for the most part of their history didn't get a chance to elect one. While Indians always had pathetic choices on offer.

Why didn’t people go on strike when Ananth Hegde did something worse?

Is it me or media really has become biased, that i have to google anti BJP news nowadays to see what is going on in my own country coz no one seems to be making comparisons or reporting against BJP? Even NDTV has become useless , have to wait a whole month for fountain ink to have unbiased report.

You know how many incidents of violence againist doctors have occured in last 2years in bengal?

236 incidents. Not one person has been punished.

In this incident, the relatives of the dead, who were the instigators of the incident are roaming around and giving statement to the media. While police has arrested 5 of their neighbours.

Fair on this issue, not saying it shouldn't I just think Doctors around India should go on strike and demand security for these aspects like some law, not statewide but nation wide because I don't see Ananth Hegde incident stopping as well.
 
I see that most of the people here reckon the damage done by Mamata Banerjee. But I am appalled at some posters who want to shield that by Modi & Shah bashing. Hate all you want BJP & RW. But at this moment at least see what the opposition is doing. How can people vote other than BJP, when we have pathetic excuse of corrupt & seditious leaders/parties like Mamata, Laloo, Stalin, IUML, AIMIM & the mother of them Congress. Indian LW has truly reached nadir.

You comparing the ongoing protest with Hegde incident is misleading. That was personal altercation almost 1v1 type. Here the whole machinery is assaulting Doctors & medical students. Patients are bringing truckload of people, TMC goons are stone pelting & throwing molotov cocktail in the hostel & college premises. Police is harassing them. You have to be really delusional to compare these 2 scenarios.

The Rath Yatra was the culmination of the events triggered by minority appeasement (Shah Bano) done by Rajiv Gandhi/Congress. It helps if you know the background of the events rather than spouting detritus arguments.
Going by your comments, there was eternal peace in the Indian subcontinent and Babri was the first religious destroyed. It is ironical that Babri itself was built on demolished temple.

Not sure about the worst as there are many contenders including current regime but the best was undoubtedly Jawarharlal Nehru who was miles and miles ahead of any other leader India has ever had. South Asia in fact was lucky to have him as a politician and he was probably the finest and most charasmatic politician in whole of S Asia. Huge respect to him.

Bhai! You are misguided. He was the worst thing that happened to India. He was a sycophant in the sense that only we can understand. There was grain shortage in India in 1960s. BBC journalist asked him, what is the reason for the grain shortage ?

What a sensible leader would tell ?

1) Inefficient Agriculture yield
2) Non-optimized storage & distribution
3) Any other sensible reason

What this dimwit of a leader said ? Food shortage is due to people eating more”. .
In the same interview he also said "South India was a different country". Absolutely shambolic

Proof -

Spot on with your assessment of Nehru. He got the PM post by being Gandhi's man. The combination of Nehru and Gandhi resulted in India having 61% poverty level 35 years after independence.

I stayed in Kolkata for 2 years (Joka, you know where), I was shocked how the 'Bhadralok' used to support TMC. The whole city had negative vibe. I have lived in so many cities (Delhi, Jaipur, Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Goa) but the decay and rot I saw in so called city of joy was appalling.

In our college we were not able to remove the canteen contractor as they were affiliated to TMC and they had hired all illegal Bangladeshi migrants.

If BJP doesn't come to power in Bengal in next assembly elections, we are looking at the KASHMIR 2.0.

Where does he say south India was a different country? (Minute?)

He is right though in a way. Before British joined south India for administrative purposes, south India was doing its own thing for millennia
